I'm proud to be a part of this thread too. Soberjoy I am going through exactly the same thing, exactly the same. We can emerge from all of this if we remain sober, drinking will only compound everything. Congratulations to all milestoners and special thank you and congrats to Strat for cakes. Hey Soberjoy, I am sorry to read of your present troubles. Job hunting and limited finances is something I am familiar with as well. You can be overcome with feelings of insecurity, fear and shame. However, picking up a bottle and seeking oblivion doesn't help, the feelings will only come back and then there is the added emotions of guilt and remorse from the drinking. FWIW, reflect on what exactly is important in your life and where you find lasting happiness. On my journey, I found the pursuit of material possessions gave only temporary happiness but also left me grasping for more which was unsatisfactory. Can I suggest that you try to exercise patience with yourself and also reflect on gratitude for what you have such as your sobriety and hence the ability to take action. I hope this helps a little.

There's no bad problem that drinking can't make worse... That definitely applies to financial. I had a pretty expensive booze habit. With a good job, I broke even, with a mediocre job, I slid very far into debt. M
It wasn't until I got sober that I was able to fix it. It was a slow climb, but a slow climb beats the hell out of a drunken slide down.
