Knb02, how nice. How old is your son?

I leave for my meeting in half an hour, time is dragging because I'm used to being too drunk to do anything. I need to get a hobby. Forcing myself not to pick up that drink, just half an hour longer and I'll be in the clear for the rest of the day.
I still have over an hour to kill till my meeting starts. I always feel better after a meeting.

Knb02....

I hope you are doing better. That AV is a pain. It is patient and persistent. It will get better.
Keep posting and let everyone know how you are doing!

Hi all,

Still doing ok. Went to a meeting earlier and it was packed. Couldn't even find a seat. It was amazing, and kind of comforting, to look around and realize how many people out there share this same awful disease. Then on the flip side, in listening to others share my AV starting saying "See, you weren't that bad, you can still drink blah blah blah" So many talked about being near death, in jail, rehabs, institutions, etc. I guess I just have to keep my telling myself that if I don't quit now all of those things could happen to me.

Family coming in a few hours. I will stay sober and wake up tomorrow feeling good and not regretful.

How is everyone else doing?

This Is how fast things can change - just posted how I was doing well and now my desperate AV is sitting on my shoulder making me think about how nice it would be to get buzzed with everyone tonight. Then I can jump back on the sober train tomorrow. WTF . I hate this. Keep telling myself to think the drink through and imagine how I will feel tomorrow. I know it's not worth it. Sigh

Hello all, popping in here because I drank
during a week long company meeting. A couple of times and nothing embarrassing happened thank heavens. I am super bummed to be back at Day 1.

The upside is there won't be another meeting like this for a year so planning on significant sober time by then! The first couple nights I drank water and it's not like my AV really kicked in or anything. Just dumb dodo impulsive behavior.

I think this is my 5th class and it's getting embarassing honestly but I won't stop trying.

I cant explain it because nothing triggered me yesterday. I just wanted a drink. I wont react to it because I am not going to undo all the good work I have done so far. But I feel like my mum has grounded me and I am not allowed to play with my friends. arghhhhhhhhh

I could smash up some plates right now.
Have you tried urge surfing? I highly recommend the practice whenever serious cravings come about.

I can tell I'm going to have to be vigilant for the rest of my life. Wow, I really don't remember signing up for this, but that's the way it goes I guess.
I'm an addict and I just have to suck it up and deal with it.
