I like yours, V!

Ok, here are the Danish canvas school bags, supposedly.

Apparently, they are hard to come by these days.

Ok... silly story of the day: I was so hungry today that I grabbed a big forkful of my husband's spaghetti, stuck it in my mouth (wedged it in, rather), and proceeded to choke like a moron.

I *knew* I couldn't swallow it, but tried anyway. And so after I recovered, I started laughing and smiled the biggest smile since the surgery. It hurt! I was embarrassed. I made a piggish fool of myself, and my husband was genuinely concerned for about two seconds, lol.

Cheesey pasta & coffee for breakfast.

I'm feeling more pins & needles on my lower chin.

Goal is to stay awake until 1 p.m. today. I'm slowly working my way towards a regular sleep schedule. Tried the drastic change and it didn't work.

I slept from 3 to 7 today. I guess I'll try to go to bed around 11 tonight. That's my usual bedtime, pre-surgery.

I'm waking up in pain each day. Then as soon as I start moving it gets better. I guess this is normal for a while.

Next doc appt is on the 23rd. I have several questions to ask him.

It seems each day I hurt in a new spot. Supposed to be this way the first three months or so. What's happening is that the numbness is wearing off and I'm beginning to feel everything.

So glad I was numb early on. It disguised most of the pain.

I used a new mouthwash today and it burned my mouth so much I am wondering if it's bothering my incisions. I didn't see that coming.

Katie, the beagle, is under the covers and cuddled up with me on one of my big pillows. She snores within seconds of her head hitting the pillow. She is a sweetheart. She can't jump up onto the bed. We have to lift her. She is precious.

Katie sounds very sweet. How lucky she is to fall asleep when her head hits the pillow.

Venus the cat snores so loudly...earplugs all the way for me.

J ~ perhaps you could ask the doctor if you can rinse your mouth with warm salt water instead of the mouthwash you tried. It might be more gentle?

(I wonder if trach has started sewing our bags yet? )

Lol, Trach knows the going rates.

I was just thinking about using salt water, V. That's a better idea than that crazy strong mouthwash. This particular mouthwash has xylitol, menthol, and is fluoride and alcohol-free. I was thinking that was the way to go. Omg, it was such a shocker. Strongest mouthwash ever.

I diluted it with water and it still burned. I thought it was the menthol, but then checked the ingredients of Listerine -- same stuff. It must be a greater concentration of it. That's my guess.

Anyway, I love the mouthwash, feels and tastes great. It'll be fine later on after the incisions are totally gone. I have the matching toothpaste, and some xylitol mints, too. The xylitol, if taken in daily quantity of 6-12 mg, supposedly fights the bacteria in plaque that causes cavities and such. Something like that anyway.

Going to bed for the second time today. I will be getting up in five hours. I probably need only four hours of sleep since I slept four hours earlier.

I hope I don't wake up in pain again. It's getting old now. Hard to believe I'm facing another month or two of the same aggravation.

Next Tuesday, a week from tomorrow, is six weeks. That means I can attempt to chew soft foods for the first time. Unless a miracle occurs in the next seven days, it's going to be painful and not worth the effort. It hurts when I touch my teeth together still.

He said healing will happen rapidly. Well, I'm ready for it.

I know it's hard, but you're halfway home.
And it will be SO worth it at the end of this love.

Sleep well. ♥
