As long as I'm not drinking like my parents, I'm ok w/it.

Tonight, I ate scrambled eggs & cheddar cheese with fresh salsa. I chopped the eggs up really well, and then just kinda of pushed them in and swallowed them down. It was hard and took a while, but I did it.

I think in a week or so, I'd like to try some fish (flaky and soft), couscous or millet (grains are tiny), and some stewed yellow squash (soft).

^^ That's right, V.

I have had to stifle smiles and laughs. It doesn't hurt, but it feels really tight and strange.

It will feel great to yawn all the way, too. I can sort of yawn, but my mouth opens up only wide enough to get maybe one finger in or a little more.

I think at some point, he will tell me to start opening my jaw more.

Sounds like some tasty ideas!!

Usually when I'm not feeling great but start to get excited about food once again, I know I'm not the way back to my normal self!!

You move forward each day and that's so important in this healing journey. Among other things, this surgery has demanded a lot of patience on your part.

I went for a walk today. I wanted to find out if it would hurt or if my jaw would stiffen out in the cold. It did stiffen a bit, but didn't really hurt. It's going to be a challenge at work next week. I will be out in the cold with the plants for four hours at a time.

It bothers me that my speech is affected by this. It's something I'm having to adjust to.

I hope that the weather warms up a bit for you next week, Potamus. I hope that your employer let's you take warm-up breaks inside.

I can go inside any time I want. I work alone. No boss looking over my shoulder. That's what I love about this job. Also love working with plants outside. Couldn't ask for a better part-time job really. I get lots of exercise and fresh air.

It's going to be in the 40s and 50s next week during the day. I should be fine. I have down jackets, vests, and coats. It's just my face I'm worried about. I have an earband, scarves, hats, gloves.

I think I'm just worrying.

When you're walking, there is more wind resistance I think.
It might be a little bit easier to deal with the cold when you are doing your job on Monday. And as you said, you can go inside and warm up when you need to.

J ~ without going into the whole story, I have bony deposits in my bottom palette. They grew out of nowhere around 12 years ago. I noticed that my speech was affected, and I was very worried. I learned how to work around it, and now no one besides me thinks my speech isn't perfect.

You will continue to heal; I'm sure you will.

I think you are going to do fine, Potamus. Working with the plants will make you feel more like yourself, too.

I rough blended chicken & brown rice soup with cheddar cheese.

Coconut greek yogurt for dessert.

Probably going to make chai and have a small bowl of ice-cream.

Only in The Deep South do we equate 40's and 50's with down insulated clothes!

For your face, go get a Buff. buffusa.com I have a regular and a fleece.

I have this warm, wool head/face thing. Not sure what it's called. Guess I'll look like an Eskimo next week.

It took me a while after I got home for my face and jaw to thaw out, lol. It was rather stiff and sore from the cold.

I don't know if it was the walk in the cold today or what, but I am having facial pain and discomfort again. Haven't had it this bad in many days. Thought I'd progressed beyond this, guess I took a step backward for the moment.

I had a small amount of liquid pain meds stashed away, thinking something like this would happen. Yay, me! I was smart to tuck that little bit away. Now I can relax and fall asleep again.

I have maybe 2-3 small doses left. After that, no more.

I'll be making chili today. A huge amount. Enough for a few days anyway. Might freeze some.
