Class Of January 2016 Support Thread part 3
Thump, I am sorry. It sounds like you really love her. It's a shame the things alcohol will rob us of. I hope in time the pain eases up for you. It's been a long time since I've been heartbroken but that feeling can never be forgotten. Hang in there...
Oh well then hell Thump, it's fixable! I'm sure happy to hear you didn't cheat while drinking or any other time. I'm sure you've tried to explain that this shittin alcoholism brings out the worst in you. It's something you are g'doing your best to fix. Give her time and SPACE to think. I hate to say that maybe she doesn't love you or not as much anymore. She needs to tell you that if that's the case. Leave her alone and she'll come home ( I hope!)!! Hope I'm not invading your privacy too much. Most importantly, stay sober doll !

Welcome to all the new people, it’s great to have you here!
Well, lunch with my friends was fun and I had no problem sticking to water with lemon, and I didn’t do too much damage to my diet. Two of my friends ordered one margarita each, the other had ice tea. We had nonstop conversations, busy catching up on each other’s lives. This was my first social event since the 8th and I’m really glad I went.
My sympathy to you, Thump and WhathaveIdone, as others have already said, time does heal a broken heart. Continue to better yourselves so that whatever the future brings, you will be in a better position to reflect on others your true characteristics that will attract and hold the affections you desire.

Hi Januaries,
Welcome to Gypsy, Nargles, Bandicoot, Starsailor,Caramel,Pedro, Zelda,WhathaveIDone... Appologies if I've missed anyone out, I'm just trying to catch up on how everyone is doing.
Thump I'm so sorry you are hurting right now... trust is a hard thing to win back and if she loves you and you can prove your sobriety long term perhaps all is not lost?
Odelle I'm so happy your interview went well, I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to wish you well beforehand.
Lulu it was brave to front up to the docs and get all those tests done. I'm still too scared. I've googled cirrhosis and counles other drinking related problems too many times to count.
Patricia I'm so sorry for what you have been through with your father in law.
Nic... 2 weeks plus!.... Wow that's awesome!! Congratulations!
Strange Angel I can relate too about learning about socialising without alcohol I'm not quite sure how to go about it... I'm not brave enough yet though to go there
Mish you were very strong to stop when you did and pick up where you left off.
Silly I always love your posts as I do everyone else's too. I read them all and sorry to not respond to all personally.
Glb so glad you are back
It's such a comfort that the people here don't give up on us.
I just fessed up earlier on the 24 hrs thread that I'm back to day 3. I was too depressed to come on here and admit to it over the past couple of days. The pressure built up and thought a few here and there would help me decompress and no one would find out... Well we all know where that leads and Im damn sure I'm not going back to the way I was so I'm back and trying to learn from this and put it behind me.
I couldn't do this without you guys.
Love Tink

Hi Tigerlili.
I lost a sister to cirrhosis of the liver 15 years ago. I became her conservator, towards the end. Her doctor recommended lecithin to help remove the ammonia build up in her body, affecting her brain.
During my previous stints at sobriety, I too suffered badly from brain fog. This time, I changed my approach, cleaned up my diet, added vitamins and supplements (including lecithin), eliminated sugar, gluten (90%), and limited dairy. The difference in how I feel overall is amazing. Following is a link with info on lecithin benefits - Benefits of Lecithin.
I can't say the improvement in my mental clarity is directly related to the lecithin or the combination of the above. Since it is available in grocery stores and is relatively inexpensive, it may be worth looking into.

Welcome Carsmel, Star, Pedro and Zelda. Hope I didn't miss anyone. If I did, then an extra hug to you!
Went to the gym today. Great workout. I've been looking at detox drinks too. Googled. Haven't really tried a real recipe yet. I see cranberry, dandelion tea, honey, ginger, green tea, lemon, distilled water, hmmm what else. Banti (might be Bandi) to share your detox diet? Thirteen pounds is a lot. I'm gonna start cutting back my food (sweets).
On that note I made chicken soup and chili this week. Chili today. Best darn chili I've ever had. I like a bit of a bite and a bit of sweet in my chili.
Onward ho!
Olivia

For brain fog, I think gluten free helps the most. Plus a good multivitamin and fish oil tablets. I've cheated a few times and keep some good dark chocolate on hand for the alcohol cravings!
Long evening walks and some gym time also help ward off the cravings. The weight loss is good but the clear head is even better- Bandi
Thank you Olivia. She spiraled out of control very fast and created a lot of devastation for everyone around her. In the end, her AV won and there wasn't anything anyone could do. 38 years young when she passed, so really closer to 18 years ago. Not a period of time I like to remember.
Bandi, your detox diet is very similar to what I have been following, and I agree, the benefits are amazing. My sleep has been off the last few nights, so Sleepytime tea for me this evening!
I love raw almonds and use sugar free vanilla almond milk in my morning protein/greens shake.

TigerLili, the avatar is a picture on found on the internet, looks almost identical to my rescue kitty. She is sweet and gentle, but came with a host of strange habits! She won't use a litter box, but found that she will pee on puppy pads. She leaves me a "present" daily on the opposite side of the bathroom, on the floor. Thankfully, she does her business in the designated bathroom, and it is easy to clean up. If she weren't so darn cute, I don't think I would have kept her!

Hello,
I've been reading through this forum for a while now and since I'm determined to do this properly this time thought I would post According to the Sobriety Calculator I've got 22 days, 16 hours and 40 minutes under my belt which is the second longest I've gone without drinking since high school - sounds terrible when it's so starkly put down on 'paper'!
I had a nice pink cloud going for a couple of weeks but seem to have fallen off since yesterday and have been feeling very low and emotional - is this what everyone talks about when they're speaking of the ups and downs of early sobriety?
I'm glad to be part of this forum and going along this journey with you all
