Do you have your meds? Can you stay at a hotel tonight?

I don't have them. I took them already. No, I don't have my purse or even my glasses. Not wearing contacts. Tom must have his phone turned off, goes straight to voicemail. It won't freeze here tonight, it's in the 40's. We should be ok in the car.

We're back inside. Dogs too.

I have talked with him and he insists now that there was nothing in the oven. He turned it on self-cleaning mode, where it locks and goes to a high temperature.

I just don't understand the toxicity, the smell.

Oh thank God J.

Whatever he did, I'm glad you're back inside and safe.

My oven smells rather strange when in self-clean cycle especially if there is built-up residue.

I am glad that you are back inside.

Sleep well and peacefully, sweetheart.

Thanks, V.

Thanks Leigh, for talking me through this little bit of hell tonight.

He keeps changing his story. I keep hearing new details.

So, at this point, he is saying that he made a little fire in our outside firepit a week or two ago, and he burned a bunch of my documents I cleaned out from my filing cabinet, old stuff that needed shredding. Well, while he was doing that, he got the bright idea to put the Dutch oven covered in the extinguisher residue into the fire pit with the papers!! The smell is from the burned documents and the residue. He said that today he returned the Dutch oven and its lid to the kitchen and stored it in the oven. He was going to leave it for me to clean, I know it. He took all of that out of the oven today in order to run the self-cleaning cycle, even though he noticed a strong smell.

It's giving me a slight headache. I hope burned papers aren't going to cause cancer.

It's just stinky. And annoying!!
Hopefully the air will clear...and your ibuprofen should help, and lots of water.

Hope the rest of your night is calm and full of restful sleep.

I have my head under the covers.

Drank some water.

It might be a while before I fall asleep tonight. Still tense.

Thanks so much, everyone. Was in panic mode and tears streaming down my face trying to gather the dogs into the car.

One funny thing...Katie laid down on her blanket in the backseat and promptly began to snore...loudly. The dogs will sleep anywhere with no worries.
