Why thank you Dee.
And thank you everyone else. I've been heeding your advice, and I'm just not panicking. Going to keep doing my job as always, and have an open mind and heart. Simple.
I have read the Celestine Prophecy, Itchy, but a long time ago. Maybe I'll see if I can find it somewhere.

There must have been a hundred birds in my yard yesterday afternoon. I'm not exaggerating. All little chickadees, sparrows, grosbeaks, "redpolls", jays, some I don't recognize. Word has gotten around about my feeder! I wonder if it's the few little nuts I added this time. But this damn feeder is becoming an investment, haha, cause they ate through almost the entire thing in three days. Yesterday a little redpoll (look them up, they are ADORABLE) hit my glass door and was a little stunned, he hung on to the sill for a few minutes and treated me to a very close look of his little red face. It was sooooo CUTE. But he flew away.

My dog is getting more confident. He stays out by himself and runs around for a good ten minutes now before wanting to come back in. I had to call him three times last night which made me proud!
We got a dump of snow last night, it's beautiful! Might go snowshoeing this weekend.

Oh me too, Wolfie, redpolls are gorgeous. One of the photos of it did resemble our goldfinch. Pleased it wasn't too hurt and just stunned, Inpar.

Mr. Finch's friend's gossiped a lot when this bird came out of his wife's egg, they figured there must have been a cardinal in the woodpile!

Very funny itchy, you crack me up!! Lol.

Morning overs, hope you're all well. Sunday morning, still dark, the little birdies haven't risen yet, though I did see bats when I went outside in the dark the other morning. They're so fast.

Catch you later.

Was thinking it looked like a finch with a red 'bunnet'! Google also threw up some pictures of magnificent red bulls for some reason, I furred pretty quickly that it wasn't one of them head butted your window or your home would have been on its side!

We are surrounded with wood pigeons who forget we have windows and frequently fly into the glass. We have had several sore heads and sadly one fatality.

All good in soggy Scotland

Well I'm sitting here at 7 a.m., on my sofa pulled right up to the wood stove which is crackling away, a nice hot cup of fresh-ground coffee, nice music, and my dog curled up next to me. Life is not so bad after all.
You guys the little redpolls are really not smart about my sliding glass door. There were five yesterday that I saw, all but one flew away after a stun, one poor little thing did not make it I'm afraid. My friend picked one up and held it in his hand until he roused himself and flew off! Soooo tiny and sweet! So I think today I have to tape some plastic wrap to the glass because I'm not going to just sit here watching these birds kamikaze themselves on my doors all day.
And there were so many chickadees yesterday, so many. Yesterday was so beautiful around my place, it was almost surreal. There was fresh snow and I live next to a ravine full of aspen and some evergreen, I found a spot behind the trailer that overlooks the ravine, and the snow was all sparkling, and with the birds everywhere, and a bright blue sky, it was a truly magical moment. So I was standing there in all that beauty and quiet and I thought: why would I ever want to leave here? I love it. I love the nature and the space. I feel like I'm "supposed" to move back to the city, because that's where I've been and that's where my dad and my friends are. But I was never happy in cities, because I don't like crowds and noise. I've always fantasized about living in the country and here I am, why am I thinking about leaving it now? The truth is I love it here. Not only that but the trailer itself, is lovely, perfect for me. I have this sense of home here, that I am learning to appreciate.
My friend came over on Friday, and we painted my living room. It's divided in two sections, one with the wood stove and couch, the sitting area, and the other a big open space with wood floors, perfect for an art studio. And the sliding doors even give lots of natural light during the day. But it was painted this awful really oppressive colour so I never went in there, but we painted it a lovely light green, almost white colour, and it looks so much better. Just need some studio furniture now. I did some painting last night. I love it so much, wish I could just be a painter. Sigh.
Itchy-haha, as usual. They really are so cute, with little red caps and some are showier than others, with bright red dusting on their chests, almost blood red.
We walked up the creek that runs by my place yesterday, it's frozen over. Saw a few beaver dams and one beaver house. The snow settling around you is an unnerving sound, has anyone else experienced that? Like the ground falling under your feet.

Morning overs

Inpar, you're in heaven. It sounds wonderful and I can picture it in my minds eye. Wow, I hope it works out that you can stay and settle there. A friend of mine had big windows and out some patterns on as the birds often flew into them. They can see the reflection of the sky out of them! A good excuse not to clean them.lol.
I have a lead pattern on my Windows but sadly, it still doesn't stop the odd bird flying into it. I've rescued many a bird, one what comes to mind was a female blackbird, she was laid there stunned, only a young one, so I picked her up and put her in an open box in the spare room. Brought her meal worms after a day or two she was pecking at my toes (I had red nail varnish on my nails, so she may have mistaken it for her mum bring food or not). Then I let her go when she could move about. I like to do my little bit to help, hopefully. She flew off anyway.

Feeling really bad today. I haven't made it into work, what with the cough and cold and asthma! I'm fed up of it all. Anyway, I've sent an email, but I hate being a bother to people and it puts a strain on my work colleague who will have to pick up my calls all day. Hopefully, I will be back tomorrow. Haven't been anywhere all weekend , I just wonder what's a matter with me! Still waiting for letter from respiratory specialist. Just want to be better. Sorry for the moan overs, thanks for letting me rant on.

Have a good Monday , hope you're all keeping well. Wolfie, it's the bird watch this weekend! I'm sure you've not forgotten.

Happy Monday.
I'm hoping work goes well and quickly today. Also hoping for a response as to why my time off request was denied for the last week of March.
I had already decided to look for different work due to aggravation of repetitive injury in arm and fibromyalgia. It is a good job but not good enough for physical pain. I can't see myself spending 200.00 a month on chiropractor and massage therapy for a part time job. I still will make and do the best I can until March.
Have a safe and sober Monday everyone!

A quick good morning, Overs. This will be a busy day and week. They are coming to do my annual major cleaning today. My kitty won't be happy! Have a good day to all. Mags, no worry about moaning - sometimes we all need to do that.

Oh please, Mags, you know you can whine here all you want. It's all I ever do it seems.
I'm so sorry you're sick! I don't know what to say....I know how asthma is and there's not much you can do for it if medications don't work. I consider myself lucky that mine was bad when I was a kid but seemed to clear itself up as I got older. It flares up sometimes when I exercise in the cold and of course around dust, cats, mold, etc. But yours sounds like a real drag, I really hope the doctors can figure out a solution for you. Have you considered a holistic doctor, or homeopath, or naturopath? Even acupuncture? A lot of people swear by acupuncture.
I taped plastic wrap to the doors, and seems to have worked like a charm. I added dried fruit and more nuts to the bird mix, my word you should see the birds. It's CRAZY. Really cool though. The pine grosbeaks are really neat looking, and I saw one flicker yesterday. And those redpolls, what a surprise they are, they're so understatedly beautiful with their little sprays of red.
I can't wait to see what starts to show up through the spring, if I'm still here! :'( I'm really thinking of getting a landscaping or gardening job if I lose my writing job, and freelancing. Or trying to start up my own gardening gig again. That would be perfect.
Well I got up early to do the work I didn't do on the weekend, so I better get at it.
Have a wonderful Monday!!!!
So you guys have a big bird count this weekend? That's cool! Who documents the results?
