Thank you! Beautiful, well-timed advice.

This is my Olive, minus the play part. She is not that old, but I think she feels playing is beneath her.

Great philosophy, EternalNow. We live by clocks and the daily routine of life which has been made, instead of, like our furry friends, who live by their instincts, their gut! Just a daft thing and perhaps we all do it, but I always guess the time before I look at the clock. In saying that, I was so disoriented at Christmas, not sure and didn't care, what day it was, but it must be good to live wholly on our instincts, once we listen to our guts, we don't go far wrong!

Morning overs

Sounds windy outside, it's 5.13 am here. The weather is turning slightly warmer. It was frosty yesterday. So rain today, hope it doesn't freeze late Reply!

Looking forward to the weekend, not going far. I do need some more bird food from the market though, if I can drag myself there in my lunch. Everything's an effort at the moment, I want a good boost of sunshine, like the rest of us, I shouldn't wonder, oh unless you're in hotter climates.

Have a good Friday overs.

Mags, do you handle the bird feed? Doesn't the dust off that aggrevate you?

Welcome Val and congratulations on your first annual soberversary!!!

Carlos, I bet you're glad you didn't bother with those snow tires now huh? happy for you my man!

IP, I have learned, much like Eternal, that the universe moves in its own way and at its own pace. I'm not saying sit back and wait for something to fall into your lap, just that sometimes things happen for a reason. Write yourself a list of dreams and wishes, practical or seemingly impractical, and think about what it would take to put any of them into action. I've seen the evidence sweetie, you can do anything you set your mind to!

Have a good one guys

Carlos, congratulations on moving to Florida! Enjoy perfecting your golf game, that's awesome.
Did FBL have a milestone that I didn't catch? Well CONGRATS FBL, on your milestonneeee! (Maybe you can enlighten me) :-/ Duh.
Yesterday was a terrible day, I was in shock. I don't really feel like going too much into it, but let's just say it was a big, sudden disappointment that I really was not counting on at all and now, I really need to make some important decisions about what I'm going to do in the next couple of months and it's scaring me. I'm afraid for my job and it is not a good feeling.
I'm thinking about leaving the newspaper biz altogether and going back to freelancing. Going back to gardening, like starting my own business again, and using that for income while I pursue freelancing. Don't know what else to do....I can't spend the rest of my life hopping from one struggling paper to the next. And I'm not getting anywhere, financially.......argh I'm going nuts a little bit.
I will take EternalNow and Toots's advice: relax and calmly decide what I want to do, and start heading in that direction. I guess the thing is I want to be HERE, I don't want to go anywhere right now. Not sure I've had that feeling in a loooong time.
Sorry to be hijacking with my drama.
Hi SW! How are the birds! My back yard is going CRAZY, there must be 50 of them back there, I can see them flying from all over. I put a few chopped up nuts in this mix, and guess what, I saw the squirrel on the feeder yesterday! So I think he just doesn't like sunflower seeds! I put my dog out there to scare him off, usually Harley goes crazy when he sees squirrels, but of course he just stood there staring at it, transfixed. Thanks bud. But, he did bark when my landlord pulled in yesterday and when my friend came over, so he's doing his job. And he chose to sleep by the sliding door last night, rather than my bed. I think he's guarding! That's so good, just what I was hoping would do.
Oh shoot, I have to be at work soon. Ugh. Morale is so, so low there right now. We're basically waiting to lose our jobs. And the "big" boss is keeping us in the dark. Sigh. Not the best work environment. But I'm sure it's for the best.
ANYWAY, have a wonderful Friday Overs.

InPar, I don't think you are hijacking. We all have times of greater need for support. Glad you have Harley :-)

Very cool IP yeah the squirrel in our garden is cheeky its an American grey one

We put a bit of sellotape over the top of the feeders to prevent sir feast a lot having more than his fair share we have peanuts, sunflower hearts, black sunflower seeds (heart inside) suet balls, suet feeder, mixed seeds, mealworms, and we get these seed biscut type things with suet & mealworms in it

Were going to refill the feeders tomorrow sunflower hearts have been feasted on

Jeni! Congrats on ten months again!

Welcome ImValentine! Congrats on that first year achievement.

IP,
Read "The Celestine Prophecy." Not the movie, the book. No I am not a proselytute. That is my made up word for the folks who push their beliefs on others. ( A combination of the words proselytizer and prostitute) But there is much to be said for heeding the messages of the moment. If you are letting all the "noise" of your anxieties about tomorrow, and/or regrets of the past, drown out your focus on giving out instead of taking in, you'll lose the gift of now. That is why it is called the present.

Mags kiddo! How'd your asthma appointment go? I hope you can get back to feeling better too.

I don't live by the clock anymore. I don't miss work as I am working at more now than when I was on the clock. I just don't have to worry about the when or the time. I have been on night shift (watching TV and streams until 3 AM nightly, getting up at 10-12) for several years and just switched back to day shift and am having a terrible time staying awake in the morning after I've drunk a half pot of coffee. It's like jet lag. My circadian rhythms aren't.

Wolf, and friends, sorry I have not been good company the last week.

Thanks Carlos,
Having you back is a gift as is V and Jen.

Someday soon I will be going to Boca Raton to visit my aunt just before I drive back over to Tampa to the Laser Spinal Institute for back and neck surgeries. If you are near either we can get together for a cuppa while I am in the SE and Western sides of the state. I'll PM before I go.

Eternal now,
Yep those lessons are taught all around us daily but so many have stopped listening. MY old friends have heard this from me before, but many folks throw the baby out with the bathwater. They never learned there is a difference between being child-like, and childish, and in trying to be mature and "grow up," They throw out their child-like sense of wonder along with the childish behaviors!

I hope everyone is safe with this blizzard blanketing the country.

Take care from yourselves folks!

Morning overs

Inpar, great advice from the overs. We're all here for you and don't be concerned with 'hijacking' , it's what we're all here for, to support each other!

Toots, thought I'd replied earlier but I can't find my post. Good thought about the bird food! Gonna wear a mask when I put out the bird food, just in case. I thought I'd thought of everything but I'm really pleased you mentioned it!

Itchy, doc gave me stronger steroids while I still wait patiently to see the respiratory specialist. Ah well, such is life!

Hope it's a good weekend for all. Hope all our friends over the pond keep safe with the awful weather upon you. Just watching the news about terrible shootings at a school in Canada. What next!

IP, you've got too much going for you to not have things work out. Keep the faith!

Not much to report these days. Life is good

Have a great Saturday, overs!
