One Year & Over Part 34
Dee,
You are a real Eagles fan! Like V I will have it too in a few minutes.
YW V, thanks for looking and helping with today guys. And LDT, that email was ever so perfect. I'm reeling with no sleep but a few snatches of an hour here and there staying up to help keep Sky as dry and comfortable as we could.
I got in the habit, when full time RVing to have to go out in all kinds of weather to walk Bogart. They had to be on a leash in every RV park and campground, and picked up after. Instead of a chore I found they were walking me, and making me stay in contact and touch/fell the real world in all its seasons and moods. I'd forgotten how much I liked the rain, and we had to leave my shoes and clean his feet in that confined space.
We started that habit in 1997 when we moved into our first RV, a 36 foot deluxe HithHiker. And all my pups have walked me until just the past few years when I let them do their morning walks alone on our place. But despite not needing to, I needed it too.
Nite all. Going to see if I dream, and have him back for a walk and a talk. He was a great listener and never interrupted or got bored.

RZ-Okay you've GOTTA post a picture of this famous lamp.
FBL-that poem! It made me cry.
How are you holding up today Itchy.
I remember that song True Love.
I too am on the watch for a dog to "find me". If I do end up staying here I want a full time dog to guard the place and be a companion for me and Harley. I think we're both a bit lonely.

FBL,
Thanks for the vids. Jimmy Stewart got my eyes irritated for some reason and they started to water- he was great! My favorite Eagles song is whichever one I am listening to except Hotel California. I liked it the first 5 million times I listened to it on the radio. It is like "House Of The Rising Sun" for guitarist singers of my generation. We had to play it for everyone who saw us with our guitar AND hear it 5 million times to boot! I could be doing a wedding solo and have to play it!
Thanks RZ.
Sassy,
Thanks, I do deal with my feelings openly. I made it through today without tearing up like yesterday. Ever notice tears and tears are interchangeable (Tares and teers as tears come when we are torn) Yes I dwell on the reasons we loved him and how he was so very loving and loyal to us.
I also had to bring Maggie in to have a growth on the top of her head checked. The same vet who helped us through yesterday. She told me not to worry it was the canine equivalent to human skin tags. She said she could mildly sedate her, remove it and dig the root out, and it will only take one stitch. So tomorrow at OMG IT'S DARK OUTSIDE! we will go in before she eats and have it removed. I am so glad.
IP,
I am not breaking down like yesterday at the thought of him gone. Thanks for asking. I am focusing on giving Maggie some extra attention because she is lost. I had to walk them both on a leash at parks and by the river. They were both trained. Skylar was trained in the normal position on my left. When we got Maggie I just learned to have her on my right. On today's vet trip she tried to go to my right as she was trained and I was trying to get her on my left at first and she gave me a look like Daddy! Why are you trying to get on my wrong side?? I gave her the right side and had no problems switching over. She really acts over the top when my SH came home today after taking her dad to a medical appointment. When we took Skylar to be released she had to stay home alone and she was OK, but you could see she was totally lost. So we will have to adjust. See, I still walk them, ahem her, three times after her morning walk alone in the back. My pups keep me moving too.
Hi Wolf! Goodnight Wolf!
My RW friends all called or emailed or texted and it's really gratifying how they all, like here, have got my six. Maggie and me are feeling like we are flying a missing man formation on walks. See on our own property no leash. So if the human in our relationship will stop being surprised by a solo dog buddy always trying to get over to my right, we would not keep getting tangled up in our heads. It's the little things that provide balance.
Cat Stevens was always one of my favorite artists, and whatever name or religion he is, remains one who brings a smile to my face.
I love my dog
As much as I love you
But you may fade
My dog will always come through
All he asks from me
Is the food to give him strength
All he ever needs
Is love and that he knows he'll get
So, I love my dog
As much as I love you
But you may fade
My dog will always come through
All the pay I need comes
Shining through his eyes
I don't need no cold water
To make me realize that
I love my dog
As much as I love you
But you may fade
My dog will always come through
Na, na, na, na, na, na, nana
I love my dog
As much as I love you
But you may fade
My dog will always come through
Na, na, na, na, na, na, nana
I love my dog, baby
I love my dog, na, na, na
I love my dog, baby
I love my dog, na, na, na

The very first album I ever bought was One Of These Nights by the Eagles. I took some of the money I got on my 10th birthday and walked up to the local Target store in the dead of winter to buy it. So hard to pick a favorite Eagles song, although I've always been partial to "Take It To The Limit" which has a rare lead vocal by Randy Meisner. BTW, I saw Don Henley live in concert in 1985 and he performed some Eagles songs. I was lucky enough to meet him after the show and he chatted with me and my friends for about 20 minutes. I told him how thrilled I was to hear him do "Hotel California." He just laughed and said that he'd sang that song a million times and would probably sing it at least a million more times before he dies
Have a great hump-day, overs!
