Ouch Conquest love!

Thank you all so much my beautiful friends.
I didn't feel alone for a minute.
Not too bad this morning, although I still feel a bit weird from the anaesthetic maybe?

Praying that everyone stays safe in these storms.

Glad everything went well Vee! Bet it feels good to get that out of the way.

Let's hunker down Leigh.

Hi Leigh!

Doing fine, tired from a busy work week, but that's good.

Today's sky was so gray with a very stiff north wind and high of 34. Flurries off and on most of the day. That's nothing for y'all but not as common here. My little one had hoped so much to be able to build a snow man but nothing at all stuck.

I hope you guys have a nice supply of comfort food! What heats your home Leigh? Arbor has that nice cast heater to use if power fails. Our central heat is natural gas, but does no good if the power fails. Same goes for the gas log fire place.

We have gas central heat, too, Mark. Unfortunately, the blower doesn't operate without electricity.

With overnight temps in the teens, the temperature in the house could drop quickly.

I'm really that sorry your little one wasn't able to make a snowman, Mark. It would have been such fun.

I only remember once that it was an issue while living here and that was with an ice storm. We have a gas stove so cooking was fine.

Agreed about Arbor's stove! Cozy

We have a gas cooktop, too. Cooking will be no problem. We are on a well, though, so no power means no water and that's a major inconvenience.

Oh boy does it get serious fast with no water! We are on city water so no problem there. After Katrina many folks got natural gas generators that kick on with a loss of power. I don't have one and rarely need it, but on those rare occasions it would be nice.

I would love a back-up gas generator, Mark, even if they are initially expensive and expensive to maintain.

And, yes, it gets serious FAST.

My mom and step dad have one. They were without power for almost three weeks after Katrina and she had her Scarlett O'Hara moment and vowed never again!

Well I'm wishing y'all a storm with no outage. Can maybe be a little fun in that case. Well this week has caught up with me. I hope I'll have showered hit the sack for a little reading in the next 15 minutes. Good night.

Goodnight, Mark. Sleep well.

I love that - a ScarlettO'Hara Moment - hmmmm, I may need to have one if the power stays out for a long time.

Grumpy and sore.

Preparing to eat soup and be entertained by Ashley Judd, Jenna Elfman, Patrick Wilson and Whoopi Goldberg.

(The movie is Big Stone Gap).

Still snowing here, Arbor, and will be until later tonight. Can't tell exactly how much accumulation due to drifting but somewhere between 16" and 19" and still snowing heavily.

But the power is still on so all is well in LeighLand.
