Class of July 2013 Part 28
We are into it as well.
The wind was crazy strong most of the day. Now we're getting white outs and blizzard conditions on occasion.
We took Leah outside for a bit and it's very cold out with the wind chill, like 4 deg.F.
I was wondering as well Crois, so I looked it up:
a. A weather condition in which heavy windblown or falling snow reduces visibility almost to zero.
b. A polar weather condition caused by a heavy cloud cover over the snow, in which the light coming from above is approximately equal to the light reflected from below, and which is characterized by absence of shadow, invisibility of the horizon, and discernibility of only very dark objects.

My explanation would have been" snow blowing and falling so hard, you can't see. Very dangerous for folks on the road, not so much for us hunkering down.
It is just impossible for me to comprehend. So much snow. So cold.
Hoping your power stays on....do you have a generator Bob if the power goes out? Can you still watch TV? My dad had a little battery-operated TV when I was little.
And thank you for "Memories of Alcohol". It's a very powerful poem.

I have a wood stove and plenty of cord wood.
Also have two small generators and plenty of gas to keep them going.
But we would be fine with the stove that heats the house nicely and candles. I never worry at all about losing power even in winter.
I'm pretty much a prepper.lol
Night wolfie.
Just heard there's 60,000 homes without power in just New Jersey. Not counting the other states effected.
There's been 6 deaths so far, mostly car accidents.
I'm just hanging out by my wood stove watching the news.

We're expected to get 2-5 inches. But, the wind and cold is so intense, it hurts. Even when I am bundled up.
I'm in South central Massachusetts. Seems to be an intense band of snow over us for the last couple hours.
New York got 25.1 inches
