Thanks Kiki / Meshelly,

Agree Kiki not being around others drinking would definitely have been preferable and what I have done so far, I'm not going to drink and just sat here pretty quiet whilst everyone chatting and playing trivial pursuit - I look a bit rude sat in the corner more interested in reading SR - does feel a bit like torture watching them all drink but no matter what / how crap I feel right now I am not going to have one - sparkling water only.

You will feel so much better tomorrow for not drinking Andy! You can do this!!! Maybe just ask for an ibuprofen and just say something like "sorry if I seem quiet...I've been fighting a headache all day." Would that help you feel more comfortable? Then people wouldn't be "wondering" why you're quiet?

Also-They probably aren't thinking about you as much as you think they are. My sponsor always has to remind me of that...that people don't think about me as much as I think they do! Haha

I'm will be on here all night...keep posting! You're doing great!

Happy New Year from the UK! Day 58 has begun in a fab sober way. Had some spiced berry sparkling soda to toast it in.

Take care all. X

Hi Paul & Snowvelvet! Happy New Year! It's only 7:25 p.m. where I am in the USA right now. I'm watching football with my family & eating homemade pizzas. Mmmmm!

0030 here, I *DROVE* with my wife and two kids to watch the fireworks at midnight, saw lots of drunk people struggling to remain upright and then drove home again. Good fun :-)

Thanks for the post Kiki

Sorry for the slips Meshelly, ultra and BB. It's not an excuse, but it's a tough time of year for us newly sober.
Can-I hope I wasn't to blunt with ya!!!! I'm glad you're still checking in and plan on moving forward! PM me anytime you need some tough love!
Ultra- I got some to share with you too! Haha. Seriously, I do believe in you but I think once you went on the camping trip and slipped up (after your foot episode) your head just hasn't been in the game. I'm hoping tomorrow it will be!!!!!
Patricia-I hope you start feeling better about 2016. I think you're going to find a lot of freedom!
Ok, Hubby is still gone and won't be flying home until Saturday now (I really wanted them home tomorrow but something is wrong with the battery so better safe then sorry) I got through night 2 with no alcohol and have been feeling strong...up until now. I'm getting serious cravings and know I have a ton of alcohol in the house. I don't think it's because it's NYE because I think that is over rated ....maybe I'm hungry or my body is tired from a new workout I did this am. Arrgggggg. Think it through to the end KIR. You can do this. Maybe I should go buy some carbonated water. Maybe I'm just thirsty?

Thanks Kiki, echoing Fabats gratitude we all appreciate your support.

It's 2016 here now, just watched a pretty impressive firework display from London, time for bed for me - New year and it's going to be one that I'm going to make the most of in sobriety and work hard at it, I guess 2015 will be viewed as the most important year of my life and for others here too - life changing and definitely for the best.

Enjoy the rest of your evening in the US and see you all in 2016, when you finally get here :-)

What a great feeling! It's nice to have control over our own bodies instead of letting alcohol control us & drag us through hell, eh?

Tell your AV to shut up KIR!!! It's lying to you!

Here's how it will go if you drink:
1. It won't make you feel better AT ALL. You won't even feel "good".
2. You will wake your disease up again & who knows if you will be able to put to sleep again.
3. You will wake up in the morning with anxiety, depression, shame, self-hatred etc.
4. You will let yourself down & feel hopeless again
5. You will be letting your AV win & it will be laughing the entire time saying "Bahahaha...I told you I would get you KIR!"

F YOU AV!!!

Maybe the change of the new year will be positive patricia. :-) everything will be alright.
