Is the huntsman poisonous V? I know you would never kill anything.

No ~ harmless. I am trying to not be afraid. It's so silly....we are trained to be afraid of spiders I think.

We have Daddy Long Legs spiders here that are harmless but super gross. They are actually helpful because they catch other bugs, but they look terrible and their webs get everywhere and collect dust. But I know what you mean V. I don't kill them either, and I pretty much just ignore them until it's cleaning (aka spider eviction) time. Then they get a free ticket to the backyard.

Yes, daddy long legs. They are our 'cute' spiders.
I do what you do.
This one is a big striped hairy spider...the ones that make people run and scream.

Sorry...I'll stop now. Don't want to freak anyone out.

I hear ya ladies. Most women don't seem to like our long legged friend. My wife included. As Briar says they are beneficial. They say if you never see them in your house, the house may be too tight. Meaning, too sealed off not allowing the structure to breathe proper.

Also, you may never see them in your house if you have a cat.
Spiders are smart, and terrified of cats.

If you have a chance Arbor, could you please look it up. This one is pretty big...about two thirds of my hand.

LOL ~ I asked the guys downstairs if one of them would help me take it outside....there is a CREW of builders here, and they are all too scared. Really????

Looked it up Vee. I see now. It's what we call around here a wood spider. See them often in wood piles and stuff. I'd just grab a tissue to pick him up and place outside. You got this. 8)

No! That's what's so great. $6 TOTAL with shipping. Amazon baby.

It's a turmeric tea with ginger, licorice, and rose. A Three root tea.

Hey guys, so update – I’m actively working on my eating issue, and I’ve gained a couple pounds back. It’s been very challenging, but I’m motivated to work hard because this problem really comes between my family and I. It’s incredible how similar it is to my drinking. There are so many parallels, and that makes it pretty scary at times.

I’m in sort of an in-between place right now where I’ve started eating again and am experiencing some pretty intense physical symptoms that come with “re-feeding” (yeah, it’s like a whole thing), which has been kind of traumatic and has made me reluctant to continue at times. But I’m starting to feel a lot better and am more consistently determined to fight the disorder.

It’s hard because it has been like a security blanket for several months (and has been in the past too, this isn’t the first time I’ve had this problem, though this has been my worst episode), and letting go of it makes me feel like my life is somehow unpredictable and out of control. It’s weird, I know, I can’t really explain it. Suffice it to say, pulling away from it is very uncomfortable mentally and physically, but I know I’ve made some progress.

I had a good meeting with the specialist this morning. She assured me that all of this is normal and I’m on the right track. She also does intensive PTSD therapy which I want to try. We agreed to start that in a couple of weeks if I continue to gain weight, so that’s another motivator.

My one year sobriety date is coming up on 2/27, and my goal is to be in recovery by then, both from alcoholism and anorexia.

So yeah, it’s all good. Everything's going to be okay.

It's not just good Briar, it's wonderful!

This is a really tough battle, and you are doing everything in your power to win.
And you already are, because you are eating.
The "re-entry" sounds pretty hard on the body, and I guess that's a little like detox. Not fun. But as you said, it will get better.

I love your goal, and I have complete faith that you will get there.

V the specialist likened it to alcohol detox as well. And interestingly it actually feels kind of similar.
