Good morning, Marchers!

I overslept - hmmm, I'm not sure that there is such a thing as overslept in geriatric paradise.

I'm not sure I'd like your weather, Marcher but I suppose it's whatever we are used to. Now that you are back, it feels like all's well with our Marcher-world. Come to think of it, whenever anyone is away for awhile it feels like we are incomplete.

Good morning Marchers I'm pretty sure it's dreich this morning, is grey, wet and 14C in summer dreich?

Sass my sweet I understand what you are saying about our crazy weather yesterday, we don't like it either. It is an Aussie thing, especially in coastal areas, to get wild cool southerly "busters" that send the temperature tumbling after it's been super-hot but yesterday was abnormal.

Even though it looks grey and wintery this morning, chances are it will clear and be bright and sunny and hot this afternoon.

Oh We I am tickled pink about your beanie! How lovely of you to say so. Speaking of tickled pink, I hope you are making use of your scarf Sass. It's the right weather for it I imagine.

marcher, it's on my little pinhead now... I love love love it!

Sassy sorry you are having whacky weather too.

Babs, thanks for checking in! How's it in babs recovery land?

Well, I had a crap day yesterday but not bad today. I got a lot of packing to do, trying not to stress about that.

Marcher, I think we're having the same weather today as you awoke to - right down to the temperature. Tomorrow is supposed to be full blown storms so should be interesting! While I'm not a fan the dogs are in Heaven.

Sassy, it's been so hard for me to get out of bed lately. The mornings are dark and cold (ok, FL cold but still...) and my westie is always curled up with me. I so look forward to the day when I can sleep in!

We, Toots will tell you...make lists! I just take it room by room and somehow it always gets done. Packing is never fun but the reward, settling into your new home, is so worth it. How exciting for you! It always takes me a few days to adjust after traveling for any length of time - but sounds like you're getting there. And your beanie sounds so adorable and cozy

Babs, thanks for the check in - love to hear that you're doing so great.

Ok, off to get dinner!

Duff, I wrote "truck" on my hand to remind myself to rent the truck, is that what you meant by lists? actually the palm pilot part is true...

I cleaned out the basement over the summer, have gone through about 30% of my cabinets and drawers, and done a lot of thinking of the things. I now have less stuff than when I moved out here from California 17 years ago. I cleared out or boxed up my stuff at j's house before vacation. They are getting movers. After I'm moved out of apartment, I can help them more.

So while I have t really started boxing up my stuff in the apartment, it feels like I'm in pretty good shape. Ask me again on Monday.

Thinning of the things! Good grief, this is the third thread I've had egregious typos on tonight! Bah!! Well at least you are probably used to the lady of the fat fingers by now...

Marcher, it is definitely perfect weather for your beautiful scarf! It keeps me so nice and warm :-)

Duff, Sassy kitty sleeps with me and keeps me warm. It's not easy to kick her off my bed.

I wish it were perfect weather for my hat. It was 60F here today. While I love winter weather here, I wouldn't mind a bit of cold.

Marcher, will wet hair affect my hat much?

No Marcher, 14C is tropical!! It's 0 here but feels like -4C I know it's not as cold as a lot of mt fellow SRers have it, but we've had wet and mild for so long that cold and crisp is a bit of a shock to the system.

We, I had a list I printed off a website for moving, it gives a countdown of when to do stuff etc. It was really good for remembering things I might otherwise have forgotten to organise. The biggest things are a) don't let yourself get overwhelmed; if you feel like you are, take a breather. It will get done on time and b) when you get stressed and short tempered, don't take it out on each other! I always deal with moving myself and send Mr T to work. I just cannot deal with his stress induced grumpiness!!! I'd rather do all the work myself. ( it's preferable to a life sentence.....)

Speaking of moving, I'm moving into my own place today, kind of easy as I don't own anything. Have a bunch of stuff being delivered today, like a proper computer so I don't have to use my phone anymore. I'll write a longer post when it's set up.

Good morning Marchers It's great to see your faces, well, avatars rolling up the screen on this cold morning. Yep it's still cold, 17C so if Toots thought it was tropical yesterday I guess it's torrid today.

Babs I didn't realise you were in the Dakotas. I don't know much about the two states but I certainly remember Pa and Laura rolling hay to make a fire during "The Long Winter". I can only imagine how cold "cold" is to you. I'm really pleased to hear that you are feeling good in your recovery.

Ken great news about your own place! Is Max clapping his paws? Once you are settled it'll be great to hear all about your Tenneessee life. I can't seem to spell that word so I hope you know what I mean.

Have a good day peeps.

Oh Man, and now I will be doing my best Doris Day impression and singing 'black hills of Dakota" all day. Calamity Jane is one of my all time favourite films. I've a thing for those old musicals, love Oliver! And seven brides for seven brother too!! Real Sunday afternoon films

Wow Marcher 17C I'd be down to my undies!! Haha and I don't mean the thread!

Budd hope the move goes well.

How are you doing Babs?

Good to see all y'all are doing well

Haag Marchers!

Budd, yay on the new digs!

Babs, glad you are doing well! When you have a day that you aren't, tell us ok so we can help?

Sassy, hope the snow is pretty in your neck of the woods!

Toots and duff, thanks for the list suggestion I'll check it out. I'm behind on renting a truck, gotta fix that later today. Gotta move my cable, disconnect power. That's about it for the infrastructure stuff. Our housemate is taking care of water, recycling and trash. And the movers for the house. Lots more stuff there!

I packed what little I had at the house before California. Cleared the basement over the summer. Thinned a lot in apartment. So yeah it's all about packing now. Oh the joy... Lol

I'm having a rough start to the day... J woke me from a dead sleep to tell me there is a car blocking the drive. I was soooo out, cozy, and having a great dream! I had 26 more mi Utes to sleep! Boooo!

She has a little car, so I was able to barely guide her out. Took about 20 minutes of very cautious maneuvering, but we got her to work. Late, but there.

I on the other hand, am stranded. I'm supposed to leave for my volunteer engagement in 10 minutes. No tow truck yet. Grrrrr. I feel a little bad, cause this has only happened a handful of times in ten years. It's usually a drunk person not realizing its w driveway not a curb. I don't want to create a problem but I gotta get out of my driveway!
