Nope haven't read any Alan Carr... He seems to know how to quit everything though... Maybe he's on to something?

I'm still not at 100%... Work starts again tomorrow, I need to be on, I'm really behind. At least I know I've been sick, truly sick, not some illness of my own making.

Toots I hope you get better quick dear!!

Hope everyone has a good day.

It's been a quiet week on the thread, I guess it means everyone is busy with living.

Babs you seem to be really determined this time and have made several big changes in your tool box.

Sass, how's the sleep going?

We I hope the first day back goes okay, I have only had one day off through this and then only because I was so tired. I am fortunate in that I work part time so get days off to recouperate.

Have a good Thursday Marchers. X

hi everyone !
Toots---yes, I do feel better this time. Although I want to tell you guys something. My husband is out of the house this morning and the thought to go to the liquor store and hide a bottle around the house did come to my mind.
It's gone now and I'm glad for that. Just a reminder to everyone--You have to be strong and it's up to you to say if you will drink or not. Whew---got by this one and will worry about the next one when it happens. I'm so thank full it passed.
Have a great day -----
stay close

Babs

Toots, sleep much better, thanks. I've been tapering the meds over the par week and got a bit too low last night but I am very encouraged.

Have a lovely day, all!

So tonight I will delve into the world of ironing, last time I tried it took me 45 minutes to do one shirt

Budd, I hate ironing with a passion! Otoh, if you get some practice, just think - you could get a job ironing

Sass, that's why I try not to burn bridges with the women I've dated, I could still get them to do it for me

Good morning Marchers It's a lovely morning in Paradise with a nice promise of summer heat to come. There is the merest twinge of slightly cooler early mornings but it's nowhere near what I would call change of season yet.

Haha Ken and Sass, let me join you in the I Hate Ironing Club. I don't iron at all, never have never will. Mr Marcher used to do the ironing, now Mum does it, I would just walk around crumpled otherwise. And let me tell you -- these days my face could do with ironing too!

Babs those dumb thoughts about buying a bottle do occasionally surface, don't think that there is anything wrong with you, it's kind of par for the course I think, but remember that it's a thought and no more than that.

We and Toots are you guys still on the sick list? Toots did you get your test results back?

Friends are coming for pizza at our place tomorrow night -- made by Mr Marcher -- if you get on a plane now you'd be here in plenty of time.

Have a good day everyone.

Hey Babs, what you described, I think of like a muscle memory - the brain being a muscle... How many times in the past would you have taken the opportunity presented to do just what you momentarily thought of?? Was it a true craving or just a dominant memory thought? The more times you over ride these situations with sober actions, the fainter these memory thoughts get until they disappear. The other types of craving that come along, such as 'needing a drink' to cope with a situation and those that come at you like a bolt from the blue also need repetitious ignoring ( even the occasional white-knuckling if it gets you through).
Remember to be proud of every time you pass a test!

Talking of tests, Marcher the results were negative for salmonella, which I expected them to be. But it's been over 2 weeks now and as I wrote elsewhere I am sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.

Oh and sorry to be different but I find ironing therapeutic, each item ironed gives a sense of achievement. I put the board up in the living room, put my favourite program on and swoosh away. I even used some of my Christmas money to buy a fancy shmancy steam iron, how sad is that!! I still go around looking rumpled though!

Hugs all

Ironing was a success, I found videos online and set up the board in that room and learned how to do it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Thank you Toots---boy do you make sense---It is a challenge for me lately and
your advise is just what I needed to hear. It is a test isn't it? I'm on my way to a AA meeting and I'm really looking forward to it.
I had the same thought earlier this morning---I could stop and pick up a bottle and hide it---but, I'm not going to !@#$%^&*( It's a test that I'm going to Pass.
Budd---you keep getting good at that ironing and your friends are going to want you to start a business on the side. ha ha ha
Have a great day everyone.
Hugs !
Babs
