sounds like you had a good weekend courage.

It was all very weird. I woke up wanting a drink. Was very stressed and felt in a really bad mood - way way more than I've experienced in years. It was all day, constant. Then it was there and I drank it. I know the cravings would have passed. I've had similar feelings and dealt with them properly. I just wanted to drink but not sure why. Did I want to be 'normal' did I think I was cured, did I just want to blot eveyrthing out.

At the moment of drinking I didn't enjoy it and as I'd eaten a large meal some hours earlier it had no effect. I always drank on an empty stomach for effect. so it was all pretty pointless. as it should be. I know there was no effect due to food not because I' m 'cured' in any way or can handle it.

I'm not going down that road again-too much to lose.

Hey everybody! I'm finally over the flu -- I know the flu is pretty ordinary, but I'm a lousy patient. Plus I'm getting old. I don't bounce back quickly anymore. Anyway, I have a little bit of bounce today!

Ready, I've been thinking about this -- I hope you have too.

These days almost if not all of my drinking urges relate to simmering anger or fear that I'm afraid or unwilling to express outright. You seem to have a lot of stressful things going on now. Is there one that's putting you over the top? Have you started enacting a plan to resolve it? I hope so!

I hope everyone else is well. Tam, please check in on Mexico next time you swing by!

I've missed a lot! RAL -
My grand sponsor says that in a bike race, if a cyclist falls off the bike, they get up and get back on. They don't go back to th beginning. And so it goes with sobriety.

Glad you're over your flu courage.

Mexico isn't until this summer but I'm counting down!! Went to an Alabama shakes concert over the weekend. Watching all of the drunks and the lines for booze really made me grateful to be sober. I saw an awesome show and I'll remember it... I wouldn't have before.

Anyway!!! Hope everyone is doing welel

Today was a struggle, and despite my three and a half year stint of sobriety, I was destined to fall and fall hard off that wagon today. So, what I ask the forum is this simple but complex question: Do you believe in coincidence or intervention? Because, today I witness an unlikely intervention that was beyond what I could have ever called a coincidence but it saved me from the hells I once called my life. Just thought I would share because some days I really need to write how I feel.

Hi noproblem -- nice to see you in the Dec 2012 group!

Human interventions can certainly happen. Do you mean a divine intervention? For sure I wouldn't be the one to claim or disclaim that -- I don't expect miracles myself. But you know, it could be! And anyway, whatever saved you from your personal hell, it's a great gift to be grateful for, and be proud you had the eyes to recognize it.

Hi noproblem! I'm glad you came here to talk. I don't know what I believe in that regard. Maybe coincidence, maybe it was always there and just now you were tuned in, maybe Devine intervention. I'm glad whatever it was stopped you from drinking.

I'm good Tam -- husband & I are going to London next week to see the kid & his wife & dog. I have a giant headache of a paper to complete before then & it gives me a stomach-ache just to think about it. Other than that, everything's normal.

You?

Hi everyone

How are you all doing?

Are you ready for your trip to London courage? It's pretty hot over here at the moment - well it is by our standards though it will probably be pretty cool to you

I took the boy camping this weekend. In a real tent with no electric hook up and no phones/tablets/TVx etc. Proper back to nature stuff!! It was actually great fun, helped by hot weather. I forget I'm 41 though and sleeping on the floor isn't the best of ideas. Think we did pretty well for a first attempt though!

Not much going on. Off to visit family this weekend.

Love the flower courage The gardens at work are looking fabulous now and really coming into bloom. Everything is so colourful. The wild flowers are everywhere too and look so beautiful even though they are wild.

I've been painting and decorating my kitchen and bathroom recently. Keep my mind and body occupied. Pleased with the results -it's amazing the difference a coat of paint makes.

Are you looking forward to your trip Tam? When are you off? How is Aiden getting on.Hope the driving is still going well.

How are you Dee? I hope you are keeping well.

Thinking of you all.
