Class of October 2014 Part 23
Wow Mark that's colder than here tonight! Stay warm man!
Party was good. Stayed for two hours then left. Got my fill of great food and conversation that I actually cared about. There were a bunch of people not drinking as well btw.

Hey that's great that you had a nice time.
You're career goals remind me of my path as well. For sure sobriety will enable you to bring your best game. Seems as though your already bringing it!
My girls are kidding me that I'm already heading for bed.....they weren't up at 4:30. Good heavens the estrogen is deep around here.

Ooooo you are so lucky none of your girls can read that Mark!
Sleep well love.
And really glad you enjoyed the party Arbor. See, there are always people who don't drink. I guess we just never noticed it when we were running around trying to hide our drinking.
I'm OK...and thank you so so much for being there for me.
I knew you all were, and I went to bed thinking about each one of you, and how much we care about each other.

I'm sorry V - Melbourne by the bay is usually pretty good tho, isn't it?
Not sure you'd find coller, except maybe in Tasmania?
Sometimes I'd put ice in the top of the evap cooler - it melts and drips into the reservoir...
It helped

Of course, loads of ice...I just emptied the water from the evaporative outside, so now I can add more cool. It just dropped 10 degrees. And I have my feet on a frozen hot water bottle thanks to wolfie....I will be fine now.
And yes, Tasmania is my long-term goal.

I'm glad you got the temp a bit more comfortable V, that heat sounds terrible!
Cold and rainy here. It's been a wet season so far, El Niņo is coming and is quite welcome. We will roll out the red carpet for him.
All the holiday parties definitely get us thinking about booze. A couple days ago a colleague was talking about buying his dad a particular bottle, and I got the most intense craving for it, stronger than I've had in months. I even let myself seriously consider drinking again, it sounded so great to escape for a little while. But I know it would make everything so much worse, and I still care about my life enough to want to prevent that. This time of year booze is everywhere.

wow are you ever right on the how especially pervasive alcohol is this time of year Briar. A couple of days ago I regret to admit that I literally salivated at something I saw on tv....but came here to SR and 'poof' all good.
I was intrigued by all the Melbourne weather talk and so I had to look into it a bit. For summer they seem to really experience more extreme swings in temp than here. We generally only experience such swings in spring and fall. You can count on week after week of 90s and high humidity here during summer no doubt. My interest in that general region is especially keen because south island NZ is on my short list of potential hiking destinations. Yay!!!!
Proper workout in the books and set to enjoy mid sunny 50s with calm wind today.....perfect 'winter' weather for here. If needed you shall find me in the back yard taking in some sun.
Wishing each of you the best day.

As long as Venus the cat is OK, I will get through.
These horrendous heat waves we now have (no longer cool by the bay here Dee ) remind me of withdrawal. I get horribly anxious as the heat builds and there is no escape. So I breath, and drink water, and pray and believe it will be over soon. After 4 days of this, I feel beyond sick. Every part of me hurts because I am so swollen from the heat.
It might sound crazy, but a part of me is grateful for the reminder. The heat will pass, and as long as I am vigilant, I never have to go through withdrawal again.
Huge hugs for all of you. ♥
Well there you go V. Finding that silver lining wherever it may be. In times of great challenge our positivity can shine guiding us through. That's a big part of sobriety I think. Good going!
