Hi V, a quick check from work to cheer you on as you deal with the loss of the trees. Also, sorry about the HOT weather you're dealing with. I've got plenty of experience with that....thankfully it's only four days.

Back to work....

Sorry about the trees, V. That is so sad. And wow, over 100, that is hot! Good planning ahead with the eggs. Now I want egg salad. Stay cool.

Celebrating Ludwig van Beethoven's 245th Year

https://www.google.com/doodles/celeb...ens-245th-year

This is amazing guys...so much fun to put the music together and see the story. Best Google doodle I have ever seen.

How do you make your egg salad phoebe?

At times I quite like the classical stuff. Beethoven's Ode to Joy is nice. I also favor Pachelbel's Canon in D and during this season I enjoy Ave Maria.

That ain't my gym music though!

You're right, that's great Leigh. And combined with his nifty little tune 'Air' that covers all the shower time I generally need.

I never did a google doodle before...that was clever!

Dee - I know my husband is worried, but this problem bewilders him, and I do go to great lengths to avoid showing weakness at home. I did talk to him a little today (by text, of course, because I'm a wuss) and just admitted that I'm depressed and I know the food thing is a problem. He said he knew I was depressed because my sense of time is noticeably screwed up, that's a telltale sign. I'll see my psychiatrist in two weeks to see if she thinks I need a med adjustment or if it's the food problem that's causing the brain problem. I mean, I'm sure it's not helping.

It's crazy though, I record everything I eat, and it seriously seems like so much food. Full, complete meals and snacks. I'm having a very hard time believing it isn't enough, and I only walk for exercise. My mind is seeing all this and telling me I shouldn't be losing weight, but somehow I still am, it's a mean trick. I think I've just gotten very practiced at managing calories so generally no one thing I eat exceeds 100, and I measure most items to make sure they are 50 or below. I'm seeing how it would be helpful to have a dietician plan it out for me, I'm just afraid it would seem like way too much food and would freak me out.

Anyway, my husband is aware of the situation, and I'm communicating more about it with him, which is progress. And I'm considering treatment options. It would be really nice to live without my brain hijacking my life on a fairly regular basis. Sober life is hard just due to the level of awareness I have. I can't use alcohol to hide from all the other stuff I need to work on.

Anyway, busy week here with potlucks and gifts and holiday everything. I asked my daughter what she is going to ask Santa for, and she said a pony. I was like, we actually kinda tried that a couple months ago, remember? That actually didn't work too well. I'm pushing hard for board games. She meets with Santa on Friday to submit her final proposal. We will see how that goes. It's actually a little nerve wracking to think she will ask for something Santa can't deliver. Sheesh! Just another way in which parenting is some treacherous terrain!

I think most kids get through asking Santa for something parents can't deliver...I used to get told that I needed to be a little older, or another kid needed it more than me, and I was caring enough to buy that.

I understand the dynamic you're talking about between you and your husband, even tho I've never been in it personally, I've seen one partner not know how to respond to the other's problem..

I didn't mean to suggest it can be easily fixed because it can;t. There's obviously as lot of history there.

I'm really glad you're seeing your p-doc soon. Maybe seeing a dietitian who knows a little about eating problems (I hate saying disorders) could be helpful and less freaky?

Nooooo! I lost my lengthy yet eloquently written post to each of you!!!
Here's the shorter version cuz I gotta run for now...

BD, Keeping a healthy distance is wise. I understand that difficulty,

Briar, Visiting a dietician sounds like a helpful idea. Or, do you have one of those places near you that makes healthy, pre-portioned meals? They're pricey but may be something else to try. And I'm proud of you for keeping your husband in the loop. I know that wasn't easy. Love ya girl

(((Venus))) I'm sorry about the trees AND the heat. Ugh. But I can't wait to watch the video! I'm a huge Beethoven fan. Thank youuu

Leigh, Jesu, Joy of Man's Desire was my entrance song at the wedding. It's still looping in my head, so very beautiful.

Phoebe, Now I want egg salad too! Lol

Big hugs to the rest of our group!!!

I've got a follow up with my oral surgeon today, scheduling final surgery. This one will be short and much easier recovery, just adding a post for an implant. YAY and EEEEK all at the same time!!! But I guess that's the way I roll lately it seems. Lol

Morning Leigh. I hope it's a bit nicer where you are. It's a foggy, rainy day here. Warm but dark.

More later...
