Dee: whaa??

Should we start a "snuggly jammies" thread? Haha.
FBL I feel like we're in a "coldest place" competition. We're -8 here this morning. Balmy. :)
Hey yesterday I went firewood harvesting with my friend, we drove into the forest and chopped up dead pine with his chainsaw. It was fun, tromping around in the snow! And I was a champ with the chainsaw, he said I looked like a proper lumberjack! Hah. Kind of made me miss my landscaper days.
Who's feeding the cat? Mags? I say keep it.
SW has been quiet, where's my good morning update?
Date #4 happened, which turned into Date #5. You could say things are going well. :) But I am being cautious, this guy has a somewhat questionable history, you know when you don't quite trust someone? I'm trying to figure out how much of that is my real gut instinct and how much is me being overly cautious and judgemental. He seems sincere but there's still a nagging feeling that I'm not getting the whole story. Eg. the mother of his 18 yo daughter, his ex-wife of 12 years, won't let him see his daughter. WTF is that. He says it's control issues and that she's very unhappy. I don't know if I should believe him. He seems honest. But is this a red flag right in my face that I'm ignoring?
Any-hoo. Like I said I'm keeping distance for now. I've told him so. And he seems okay with that.
I guess it's Monday. Have a good one everyone!
:accb:

Saskia 11-23-2015 06:19 AM

IP, there's no particular rush is there? If it were me, a bit of caution is rarely out of place :-)

Mags1 11-23-2015 10:20 AM

Haha that's what I thought Inpar , must mean something in Aussie.

I agree with sassy, slowly, slowly, does it cautiously, Inpar .

Well not long now before I start wearing my Christmas t-shirts, the jumpers being a bit too hot for me, being of that age! Lol. I've just bought another and it's got an advent calendar on it,. So I've quite a few to go at depending my mood for the day.

Gonna have a piece of lemon cake with a cuppa, yay.

Speak soon.

tootsl1 11-23-2015 12:08 PM

Mmmm lemon cake!

Yeah, Wolfie, where are you????

All ok in Tootsville

Mags I'm always out of my work clothes and into my jammies! :)

venuscat 11-23-2015 03:43 PM

Hitting the kivers = going to bed. :)

Hmmm....InPar, if you don't mind me saying, that does sound like a red flag to me.
I would want him to open up and give me a few more details about that before I got more serious with this guy.

Love to all of the Overs. ♥

Mags1 11-23-2015 09:27 PM

Venus, thanks for the translation. I just looked and didn't realise, or had forgotten your in Aussie too! I thought you were American , I'm now going to have to give you a nice new accent! Lol.

Sounds good to me toots! Hubby takes the mick when I put my jimjams on but, then again, he always takes the mick.lol.

venuscat 11-23-2015 09:39 PM

Aussie yes, British parents Mags ~ Scottish mum and English dad. :)

Mags1 11-23-2015 09:57 PM

Oh lovely, you may have a hint of Scot in you, V?

Dee74 11-23-2015 11:01 PM

I was speaking 'Rusty', not Aussie :)

fbl, may i please have your autograph? lol

InParticular 11-24-2015 06:40 AM

Oh sorry SW, sorry for your loss and hope you are feeling better now.

What is a "Rusty"?

I love how international this crowd is. Well, English-speaking international I guess!
Where the heck is Itchy?

Happy Tuesday back, FBL. :) The weeks are flying by.
The head of the company is coming tomorrow to meet our staff and to make an "announcement", some changes he's making and it most likely involves my job. I am nervous. I've been told it's "all good" but, it's not like he's going to tell us ahead of time if it's bad news. So yeah I'm nervous.

I talked to the guy about his ex, on you guys' advice! He said that it's not that she doesn't want him to see his daughter, it's that his daughter doesn't want to upset the mother, who she lives with, because when he comes around she gets mad and takes it out on the daughter. I guess she's on medication for depression, anxiety (sounds familiar, I was thinking as he told me this) and is holding on to a lot of anger from 20 years ago. He says he tries to communicate with her but she can't or won't with him. So....okay but it still kind of sounds like he blames her for a lot of things. I don't know, I'm taking it very slowly and I guess that's a good enough explanation for now. He seems sincere, I can usually tell when people are bs'ing me.
Anyway. Monday was busy. I got a lot done and it's always a moment at the end of the day when I think "wow I can actually do this job."
It is 7:40 am and pitch black out, still. It will still be dark when I drive to work in an hour.
Oh and, it's -19 out!!!!!!!!!!! Hope my car starts. I keep forgetting to get a block heater for the engine.
Warm inside though so that's good. I'll let you know when we hit -30.

tootsl1 11-24-2015 08:43 AM

Fly by :wavey:

Soberwolf 11-24-2015 08:45 AM

Thank you IP

feeling-good 11-24-2015 09:16 AM

Just popping in but have to run! Hi everyone :D

FBL 11-24-2015 10:17 AM

Wow, IP...that's COLD!!! We're at about 45F here today, that's ABOVE zero:)

Just one more afternoon at work and then I'm heading back to Minnesota tomorrow for Turkey Day with the family.

Zip, you can't have my actual autograph, but hope this will be an acceptable substitute:

Mags1 11-24-2015 10:45 AM

Evening overs..hi wolfie nice to see you.
Hi feeling-good

I just reacted badly to an email which made me annoyed and wrote one back without rationalising. It was ok, I wasn't rude or anything but nowadays I'm usually a lot calmer. I got myself so churned up I can't eat my tea! It will pass, I'm sure.

Soberwolf 11-24-2015 12:45 PM

 Mags nice to see you too don't be to hard on yourself we all interpret things wrong from time to time nobodys perfect heck I know I'm not but at least we can admit it when a lot of ppl can't

Mags your very awesome to me how about a nice hot bath ?

Soberwolf 11-24-2015 01:08 PM

Hope you feel better Mags

Goodnight Overs

Mags1 11-24-2015 01:29 PM

A hot bath sounds very relaxing Wolfie.
Have a good evening.

venuscat 11-24-2015 02:32 PM

(((Mags))) ♥

I did that the other day by phone...and I left a voice mail and couldn't take it back.
And funnily enough the person I called rang me yesterday by mistake, and I got to apologise. He said I didn't owe him an apology, I hadn't been rude. I was just assertive. Do you think we might be a little too hard on ourselves love? :)

Hope you feel better now.

InPar ~ that sounds reasonable to me. It's sad that he doesn't see his daughter, but that can change. Follow your instincts and enjoy! :) And buy the block heater, -30 sounds TERRIFYING!!

Love to all of the Overs. ♥

Mags1 11-24-2015 07:25 PM

Thanks V, I'm usually pretty nice to people but I was straight to the point I'm ok now, though! I think! Had a problem also, all my life saying No! What am I like!

Itchy 11-25-2015 12:03 AM

Hey overs!
I'm here and fine! Thanks for asking IP. I am kinda caught up with fluffy zippy jammies, hot dates on cold nights and our very own Venus kitty being off probation. Seems like yesterday.

I have been going twelve hours a day getting ready for Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. This year we're getting a new 60-65"4k TV, and a new tablet. I already sold the old tablets and 60" Plasma 1080p TV last month.

Every year I peruse all the stolen and scammed sales before time and then zero in on the best buys. I decided to get a new Surface Pro 3 with i5 and 128GB SSD with Four GB RAM. The Pro 4is more than I will pay now, too new.

So now the TV is all that is left. I know it sounds venal but I have fun with the research and analysis. So I've been meaning to stop in and say his but have been screen eyed blind and so tired I got my tongue stuck in front of my eye teeth and couldn't see what I was saying.

So glad y'all are doin, and fine too. I'm not a jammy kind of guy. My SH likes to wear shorts and sweat shirts and I like my super size heavy weight terry robes that come down to mid shin. Warm as blankets. I do lounge stuff rarely and if I'm going to pretend to be dressed, I'm going to get dressed dagnabbit!

I'll be back more regularly after Cyber (next) Monday.

We have Thanksgiving here Thursday, which is the start of the Thingsgiving season. Immediately followed by the New Year. Time flys when we're sober, but is not lost like drinking, nor are we.

G'Nite overs and overries.

So grats for all and to all a good night!
