Thank you all so much for your advice! I think that's the route I'm going to go- just say it's for health reasons and leave it at that. Deciding I'm not going to get in a whole long conversation about it reduces the anxiety I have about the situation. Thank you!! I love the support here : )

Day 23, done. I don't know why I post so often, almost daily. For me, it's theraputic, so sorry to those I may drive a little crazy.

So anywhoo, planned a night for my son and I, three weeks ago I would have definitely had some alcohol on board. I took him to dinner for some nachos, it's what he wanted, oh, and I love em too. Then came the waitress, "lemonade, soda, or bottle of beer perhaps"? "Hell yeah I will take a beer, gimme the biggest one ya got in an I PA with the most alcohol content." Now that's how I would have usually answered that question, then I would have proceeded to play with my phone and work on a fat buzz and zone out, ignoring my child. Instead, I got a soda, and with my son we did the maze, word search, and played tic-tac-toe on his placemat, and it was fun! I even let him win a couple times at tic-tac-toe which he got a kick out of.

After dinner we proceeded to a movie together. The old me would have drove us there buzzed, risking our lives and my career. Once we got there I would have been disappointed because I would have to lose my buzz while the movie played, and it would have been all I thought about, wishing I would have had just one more beer. And then later that night, once we got home I would have prolly sucked down a few more beers trying to rekindle the buzz that was already long gone.

.....um, I think I will stay sober.

Good morning on this dark and gray morning Going to have my French Roast to wake up. Hoping for a good day!

Welcome BunnyLuv! Look forward to getting to know you!

Looking4aWagon - please don't worry about too much posting. Post a lot and often! I really enjoy reading everyone's posts here.

I've got nothing else to report - Day 31 - another day - will most likely make it to my SMART meeting tonight. Those always help, but with my schedule with my kids I can't make as many meetings as I would like to. But tonight looks possible. Have a great Tuesday!!

Gosh, me, too. Never crossed my mind to limit my posts. I have to be sure to post when I am feeling weak. I am still under one month sober, and, when I am able (work ok), I keep SR very close to me. I assume someone will slap me if I need to rein it in.

Day 29: Nothing much to report, just checking in. I'm working again, which is nice. Things don't seem overly stressful and I don't anticipate it playing a role in a relapse in the future. The real relapse trigger is boredom and a general lack of hope for the future. So far, I've managed to avoid those for nearly a month. Guess that's something.

I don't think anyone is posting too much. Keep the posts coming please! I post daily even if I don't have much going on. It's been good for me.
Two things today:
1) one of the girls left work a little early today, and I left shortly after her, so the conversation I was fretting about yesterday didn't even happen today. I'll be ready when it does come up. So many times I make things out to be a lot worse in my head than they are in reality.
2) I have 7 weeks today, and I liked your idea Juno of treating yourself to something as a reward. I went by target after work and got a few little things for myself- new nail polish, 2 new shirts, and some new chapsticks. I grabbed a cappacinno from Starbucks while I was doing my shopping. It was fun! I was so glad to be craving a cappacinno after work and not wine. I'm going to hop on the treadmill now. I'm feeling pretty darn good!
I hope everyone is doing well and having a nice week so far!

Grizzly - I actually purchased some sort of expensive facial products today(skin serum/moisturizer) online because I thought I deserved it! Of course we deserve to treat ourselves once in a while - glad you did today, too! I thought about getting a frozen yogurt for myself yesterday, but didn't have time. That will come soon.

I actually had a wine craving at around 3:40 pm while I was driving to pick up my son. It hit me fairly hard and I was mad because I haven't been having cravings. I guess those brain pathways take a while to heal. My AV was even trying to trick me by saying, "You can have one glass of Chardonnay and then carry on as usual, no one has to know!" and "You can change your sobriety date from 10/11 to 11/11... see, no big deal. Tomorrow is 11/11! And you like the number 11 so it's all good!" So I managed to just sit through it as I was driving and by the time I got home I was thinking about a bowl of frosted mini- wheats instead of wine. The cravings are short and they pass. But they can be intense when they come.

I might want to mention this to my doctor on Thurs - maybe we can add another small dose of Campral to my regime. I'm only taking 1/3 of the recommended dose so I could at least go up a little bit if needed.

Well, safely home now and trying to chill out. Good night to all! Keep posting, everyone!!!

I have nothing to post so I'll ask a kind of "fun" question.

Now, I know Juno a little from the past on here but the other posters I have no idea about. I, naturally, do have a mental image of each poster based on their writing and their username. Here are some of my thoughts and I m being a little tongue in cheek so I hope I'm not offending anyone.

Grizzly: your username fooled me right from the start and it took me more posts than it should have to realise you were a female. I imagined a kind of Grizzly Adams lumberjack rotund, with a beard and in a checked shirt.

Dee: I just see Yoda but typing away in an old, dark and dusty bookshop.

KofC: again I know I'm wrong but, you effervescence has me imagining a bubbly Californian Valley girl.

Syd: your post about your job has me thinking of an old friend who has a similar line of work.

TtoR: a cool, efficient professional.

So to my question, for those who care to answer, is what is your online impression of me. I'm curious as to how accurate they are/aren't.

Winslow: I imagine you in black and white, British and upper class. It's all in the name, The Winslow Boy.

Haha, Midton! Oh that is funny!! I am a huge fan of memphis grizzlies basketball, that's where that came from. Crazycatlady was already taken : ( I look nothing like what you pictured fortunately, lol!
I picture you early forties, lean, clean cut (no facial hair) in a long sleeve collared shirt and khakis, and bald. Bald because I remember you said you were. I think of you as serious, like take care of business, but also calm and serene- peaceful. Am I close?
