Hey all, day 4 ending. I'm crabby at work - and bought a pack of cigs tonight - but I'm not drinking

It just dawned on me the crash I had last weekend: I drank - spent essentially 2 whole days in bed afterwards - I so need to take better care of myself. It's getting better day by today. Today I didn't feel the same shame I had been shouldering the day before. It's wearing off thank goodness. But I need to remain vigilant about not drinking no - matter - what!

How is everyone else doing? Nice to see you yoga pants

Oh here's a cute one. Boss got each of us a bottle of wine for cmas! I wasn't expecting that. And when he asked if I liked it I didn't have the heart to say I didn't drink. Just nodded and said thank you I will give it away somehow this weekend. Don't worry I left it at the office and I can trust myself with it (now if it was a 6 pack of my favorite IPA I would NOT be bringing it home

Happy Holidays to you Dee! Hope you get a break from our needy butts and can relax! Do you have a family get together?

my brother in law the fireman says Christmas Eve and Day are a mess with so many calls for paramedics. Domestic disturbance due to alcohol.

Merry Christmas Santa Dee I hope you get some time to enjoy your friends and family. Any holiday gigs scheduled?

Closing down day 5. Still on edge a bit and feel like I am short tempered but that will lift soon - especially because after tomorrow I don't work until 2016 so glad to have a break from the office and time to focus on my house and other stuff. I do need to make sure I don't get bored or lonely (which is how I ended up drinking at the bar Friday night) but I can figure that out. I just made some NYE plans to drive to my cousins place 2 hrs away and spend the night with her watching movies and drinking fancy NA bubbly drinks

What's everyone else got planned to stay sober over the holidays?

Heya all, hope the eve of xmas eve went well. I'm headed for a fairly solitary Christmas and hope to make some good use of time . . . not always something I'm good at.

Micro-successes
got my sister to help me move furniture in garage so I can get the car in
did 10 min of yoga
had a late lunch of tomato on eggplant with parmesan - really good!

Hi class, day 6 for me, well underway. I'm about to head to my moms, she and her hubby both quit drinking this year. So I'm grateful for that but she is still pretty angry and critical and I'm a little anxious about that. I'll head down and if things get bad I'll make an early exit

Merry sober cmas all!

Well so far so good on the useful solitary Christmas Eve

Micro Successes
got my mom to shower
managed to get the snowblower started and cleared drive - more snow tomorrow
salad spiked with bacon for lunch

Whether you are lonely or spending Christmas Eve with way too many irritating relatives, I hope it is as Merry as possible.

Try and slide a bit of yoga, self-care and healthy food into your day.

Kitty, I have thought about loneliness and Christmas. I've always wanted to have the Christmas scripted in the "Let it Snow" Christmas Carol: snuggling with a sweetheart by the fire, lights, mistletoe and the works. Sigh. Doesn't look like I will have that in this lifetime. Instead I had Christmas lunch with my aging friends in the nursing home and Christmas dinner with 3 single, middle-aged girlfriends and one 90-something father. It did snow like all holy heck which was lovely.

Anyhow keep going all. Progress not perfection.

With that I'm off to get a glass of water, put away a bit of living room detritus and call my Dad.

Christmas with friends sounds lovely BKA. I'm so grateful for my girlfriends.
Quiet blissful night at home watching Master of None on Netflix. It's not amazing but it's funny. My Kittycat is being lovey dovey next to me. I am feeling lucky
