One Year & Over Part 31
I'll give you the cliff notes Itchy...
I overestimated my own abilities on the scooter - going at a goodly speed, tried to sneak around a speedbump, caught the rise of the edge with my wheels - toppled over.
I went to hospital getting checked out - they were worried about broken ribs and ruptured spleens etc. but in the end it was some cracked ribs and intercostal muscle tearing.
They wanted to keep me in a few days but I discharged myself.
In hindsight wasn't a smart thing to do - I rely on my upper body strength more than my legs and with the pain I was in, it was a tough week.
I'm doing ok now - still some pain but nothing to stop me.
Scooter is fine too - all I needed to do was reconnect the battery
I'm never been a car guy so this is a massive learning curve for me. I'll have more respect for gradients now

Whoa!
I too have torn my rib cartilage and cracked ribs skiing and playing racquetball. Ouch! Trying to picture the accident. Man! My heart goes out to ya. There's no wrap or bandage that can make unimportant things like sleeping, breathing, and coughing, less painful, never mind laughing.
Thanks for reading me into it.

Ouch Dee take it easy. I cracked a rib once ( over enthusuastic hug from a large drunken friend believe it or not!) v painful. You're right I don't travel SR the way I used to, I have trouble enough keeping up with the few threads I follow!
Wolfie, hopefully book goes 'live ' this weekend it is all formatted ready, I just need to correlate everything write up the bumf and enter all the data. I need a fresh head to do that and have been too tired at the end of my working day so far to feel up to it .
Keep it up Petals!
Hugs all x

Toots, congrats on the book!
Dee, I cracked a rib once after a drunken fall, so I know the pain. Glad you're on the mend.
My podcast interview is later this morning. I also have an interview next week with a radio station in Indiana. When it rains, it pours
Have a great Thursday, gang!

Dee: I will have HRH Olive tell you off as well. You have not been told off until a 1/2 nuts pug ties into you. Not only do you get barked at, but sneezed and snorted upon as well. It is a humbling experience. Hope you are mending!
Congrats on the book Toots!!
Have a short notice concert tonight, started rehearsing last week. Fill in for a sick tenor. Money is good and is the Requiem and "Cantique de Jean Racine" by Faure, both pieces I know and enjoy. So it has been fun, partly because my nemesis is not involved.
Some of the singers got to talking about singing after or while drinking. I shared some of my stories of keeping vodka and tonic in my bottle instead of water, spending intermissions downing shots of schnapps ("lubricate the throat" was the excuse) and being so drunk I was singing the wrong music.
Greets to all the Overs!

Hi overs, hope you're all well.
Dee, John Lennon has gotta be my favourite.
Itchy, sorry you lost your post, it happens to me sometimes. Thanks for the thought, I had to smile. I remember what you said once. Something about only two times you have a problem with teenagers, before they're 15 and after they're 15. Lol.
I can hear fireworks. There's a few displays on tonight but I haven't ventured to one.
Had a few busy evenings and what with work I've been wiped out every evening and morning the last few days.

Sounds more like 'The Fast and The Furious'
Mags poor Molly was walking around panting and shaking all night. I've been doping her with dog sedatives but nothing seems to help. It's hard not to baby her but all the advise is to ignore the behaviour. She bounces back quickly enough.
Funnily enough Drake when I started reading your post I wondered whether you had noticed a change in your voice in sobriety - then I read the rest of it! Any excuse eh! Glad you get to sing without your nemesis! Lol
FBL yeah must be awful having to do all that radio Grrrrrrr! I have said I hate you right?
Itchy if I write a big post I always hit copy now before I attempt to post it just in case!
Hugs Overs xx
