Good morning, Marchers!

Not much happening here but I always seem to have plenty to do. Time flies - I've been living here for 10 months already :-)

I hope you all have a healthy, happy day

Happy prethanksgiving everybody!! I take the day off to cook and prepare. This is really my favorite holiday on many levels. It's all about gratitude, family, friends and food. We host, since j and I go to our respective hometowns for Christmas, this is kind of our Christmas. J used to grumble about going to all the trouble for an "American holiday," until I pointed that out. Now she's all in.

Joygirl convinced me to get the new Adele cd and blare it while I cook, that sounds like fun.

Hope everyone has a joyous, calm, holiday however you spend it!

I'm one of the only people I think who cannot abide Adele, really hate her voice! Loved Amy Winehouse.

Budd you are in my thoughts and if I were closer you would be in the biggest hug you can imagine - and some. If there are any gratitude so, it is that you get the opportunity to tell him how much you love him.

Hug the one you love.

I loved her last album but can't seem to get myself to love the new one. Her voice does irritate me more on this album. But glad you're enjoying it, We!

My t-giving prep = ZERO! This year we're going to my parents' house and my mother's idea of thanksgiving preparation is calling for reservations

I hope everyone that celebrates tomorrow has a wonderful day!

Good morning Marchers Paradise is having a heat wave, it's 28C already at not quite 9.30am, I've just come in from hanging out blankets I've washed before storing them for the summer and it's warm! I got up extra early this morning to go down to the beach for a swim, it was delicious.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who celebrate it. I've always loved the intention of Thanksgiving -- to gather to eat and enjoy and give thanks without the hullaballoo of presents and so on. If any of you is eating turkey have an extra slice for me, it's about the only meat that I really love.

The follow-up of Black Friday seems a bit of a shame but I read something delightful on a Scottish (Scot?) blog -- book shops there have "Civilised Saturday" where workers dress up, offer a pot of tea or coffee to customers along with a slice of something. I am so doing that in December!

Have a good day all.

hi guys !!!
Went to another AA class today---Boy, if you think you have problems just listen to some of those people. I have it sooo good and it takes a meeting for me to see that I don't need to feel sorry for myself. I love those classes.
I'm leaving for my sister's on Sunday and coming back on Tues or Wed. so, if I don't get back here that's where I'm. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. hugs to all of you.

Good morning, Marchers!

Just a quick one today but it is heartfelt. I am so grateful to all of you for helping me on what has been a very difficult and critically important journey. I'm so happy to be here enjoying my infinitely better life as a sober person!

Good morning Marchers from a much cooler day in Paradise! Yesterday was 39C at 3pm and 20 degrees cooler a few hours later, a bit of a scorcher.

Sass that was the loveliest post, I'm grateful for you and for all our Marchers and, of course Dee, you are one of us as you know.

I hope that the celebratory stuff is/has gone well if you are doing TG and if you're not I hope Thursday is being good to you.

I meant to tell you all that Mr Marcher has built himself a shadehouse (for plants) over the last few Sundays, it's a great sign of how well he's doing.

Have a good Frursday all.

Sass, I'm thankful for all of you too! This is my 2nd sober thanksgiving and you all have been here with me every step of the way. I'm thankful to be ending the day sober and knowing that I will wake up in the morning with no regrets, no hangovers, no anxiety.

So glad to hear how well Mr. Marcher is doing!

(((((Budd))))) ((((north)))))

Sad, that was a great post. I'm very thankful for you guys too!

Duff nice prep lol. Glad you enjoyed your sober thanksgiving! It's so much nicer this way! If there's ever drama, it's not caused by us.

Marcher that's great news about mr. Marcher!

Our last thanksgiving in this house... It was a really nice one. Probably our favorite. Two of our friends moved away and their friend didn't come, one of out regulars went out of town this year, no chechnyans, lol, we were down to only 8.

It was so nice and chill! No drama. Whoever the time nazi was, they didn't show. We have dinner at5:00 and it's kind of compromise caused hate the idea of a 3:00 dinner and the "mil" doesn't want to eat at 6:00 or 7:00. We Italians like Tokyo putout an ongoing spread of appetizers followed by a main meal at6:00 or7:00, followed by dessert, coffee, more dessert, you get the picture. This Midwestern eat at3:00 then go fall asleep in the living room thing was a big culture clash for me! If I'm gonna cook this much I want to see people hanging out with each other! Lol

So anyway, this year was great. Lots of hanging out and no drama. Perfect end to Avery nice run of thanksgivings at that house.

Things that used to freak me out, didn't. We couldn't find a bunch of stuff that i could have sworn I setasidefor thanksgiving: extra pans, serving utensils, breadbasket, carving set, handmade serving bowls... Crap did I put that stuffin storage after all?? Lol we rolled with it.

Sorry you couldn't sleep last night, Toots! I can definitely relate.

Lately I have been doing a few minutes of self hypnosis after I go to bed and that has been working well. I've generally slept from 5 to 8.5 hours :-)
I used to do that for pain instead of meds many years ago and had gotten out of practice.
