LOL Briar, would not want to be in a competition with you! Conquest, YAY on finding the dress. One big thing out of the way. Mark, I made those potatoes last night too, with London broil. Arbor, there's a new baby upstairs-he cries all the time! Be thankful you don't have that. The show went well; lots of work. The big seller was bath melts-all the girls wanted them. No holiday here-off to work. Have a good day all.

New baby BD? I actually thought the newborn stage was easier this time around. At four months in he's brought on some tougher challenges.

At work today too. What holiday??

Enjoy the day everyone.

Hey Arbor - it's Columbus Day. I'm working too, but the courts are closed, so it's casual dress day. It's a holiday in and of itself. I love seeing what people choose when they don't have to wear suits. Some years I even discover unknown tattoos. We are also having a luncheon, which will be nice as I'm feeling social.

Yesterday we took the little one to the movies for the first time. We watched "minions." I don't know if anyone else has seen it, but ...okay, I know that when I was a kid we watched all that Warner brothers stuff which was full of gratuitous violence. Maybe this movie was the same, just more heavy artillery, but I was surprised by how violent it was. It was even a little much for me. I looked around to see if there were mostly older kids in the theater, but they were little like mine. Am I just getting old? Anyway, it was fun, and she ate an astonishing quantity of popcorn, which is all part of the experience.

Missing V, hoping everything is going well with the procedure.

BD - I love bath melts! When the drought breaks, I can't wait to enjoy all that fun stuff again. Bath bombs, melts, and bubbles aren't as awesome in two inches of water.

The drought is pretty crazy right now. A nearby town has reached mega crisis level and banned all outdoor watering as well as ordered restaurants to only use disposable dishwear/utensils to minimize washing. They are straight up shutting off peoples' water if they prove themselves wasteful. I've been flushing our toilets with buckets of leftover bath water, which is not glamorous nor completely effective. It will be very nice to get some torrential El Niño rain.

Wow, Briar. That's gotta be tough. Cheering on El Niño rain for ya!

I'm "off" today, but have an action-packed schedule that had me up at 6. I've made the first pumpkin breads of the season and this place smells awesome. I'll take one to church today and one to work tomorrow, eating vicariously through others I guess. Lol
To be married in my church, you're expected to participate in pre-marital counseling with the pastor. Our first session is this afternoon...I'm really curious because he's a little bit younger than us... Then my sister and I are going cake-tasting and then celebrating her birthday with a family dinner tonight. Who can complain when the schedule says cake, dinner, cake?!

Phoebe... If you like mustard, I've got a great get-skinny chicken breast recipe. I put a couple of pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breasts in a 13x9 cake pan, lined with greased foil. Smear Dijon mustard and whatever seasonings on top of chicken, coating completely. Then seal the whole pan tightly with foil. Bake at 400 for an hour. It is fail-proof and always a hit, even with the little guy.

Stay well, peeps!

Well this morning I am down 2.8 pounds. Good gawd this is slow! Was a lot easier just 5 years ago. Tough getting old and sluggish!

Kids home today. I still smell like smoke from last night's fire. Going to shower. Been a lazy holiday morning. But must take a good walk today. Beautiful day!

That's lots of steps ladies....that Fitbit thing is something! I follow this site called musclehack. I like it because it tells me exactly what to do and it works. Maybe your husband would like it Briar?

Today was yard stuff. Removing some hedges I lost despite my watering efforts. This chore led to me sprinting across the yard to escape the wrath of yellow jackets. I continue to put in winter annuals....this chore led to me getting in an ant bed. Gave it all a break and went swimming. I work in stages .

Hope Monday was good to ya!

Nice thought Mark, but my husband has only barely started to work on his ass-couch relationship. "Muscle" is probably a ways out still. He used to be in great shape, hopefully he'll be willing to get healthy again. He works long hours and says he doesn't have time. I think anyone can make time, but he tends to prioritize work over everything else. Makes it kinda tough for everyone.

My husband is naturally trim. No matter how much beer he drinks, he has worn the same size pants since I have met him! Going to yell here: NOT FAIR!!!

Phoebe while my husband has gained some weight, it's really not a lot, and it's NOTHING compared to what I would gain if I ate like him! Cookies for snacks and eats out every day. It's ridiculous.

Oh hey Arbor - if you like savory tea like genmaicha, you might want to try hojicha. It's roasted green tea and has kind of a toasty, nutty flavor. I buy the Eden brand.

Well, I'm officially stuffed, but I'm not complaining. Cake for lunch, meatloaf and taters for dinner, then strawberry shortcake for dessert. Woo wee! There's nothing better than my mom's cooking so it was worth every extra calorie.

Back to the work grind tomorrow (and healthier diet grind). Gnight all!

Conquest that sounds like heaven! My day was a banana, like 10 peanuts, a ham and apple wrap, a crap ton of sautéed veggies, and a portion of spaghetti so small I basically just glanced at it. My husband tried one of my low carb tortillas and said it tasted like "cardboard dog s***." I can't say I disagree, but they sure are filling.

I think a friend and I are going out for lunch tomorrow, so I've got that to look forward to. Of course, we are going to a salad place, but whatever.

Good morning gang and happy Tuesday. Finally back to my normal gym this morning.

I don't have very discerning tastebuds. The low carb wraps are fine to me. If if put grilled chicken and sautéed peppers in there with a little mayo...yum. I don't, however, like fat free dressings etc... would rather not having dressing at all.

Wishing all a nice day....gym time.

I'm with you on the fat free stuff Mark-it's pretty gross. Reduced fat is fine by me. I eat salad with tuna for lunch every day-yep, boring. I make a week's worth of tuna at a time. I vary the dressing and eat a cup of soup and an apple as well.

Yes not into low fat low carb low anything. Half the time companies end up adding extra processed sugars to make up for it. It's not the fat that's killing Americans its all the hidden sugars we consume. So enjoy the healthy fats. They fill you up and keep you full.

I'll check that tea out for sure Briar. Thanks!

I can eat fat free yogurt, but not much else. The Hellmans light mayo is good, but I also hate fat free dressings. I think it is the gums they add to thicken them. And the usually have more sugar.

Had some apple crisp last night. Pretty sure that is not on the 21 day fix. Going to dinner tonight. Meeting two friends I have not seen in a while. The place has some good salads. Not stressing.

When I tried to give our dog a slice of fat-free cheese and she turned it down, I wondered... Should I be eating this?! The dog must know something. Lol

And I don't mind the low carb wraps at all. I like Joseph's pitas and lavash. Unfortunately, it's not always easy to find.

Kind of resenting going back to work. It was a busy, but fun weekend and I'm sad that it's over. Tonight, the guys and I are meeting my brother at the park so they can play basketball. I think I'm gonna take a book, a blanket, and kick off my shoes. Or, go for a walk, depending on how attached I am to my desk during the day.

Lotsa love to you all!

Hello, Octsobers.

I can't tolerate much of anything marketed as low-fat, low carb. My goal is to each as many whole, non-processed foods as possible - lean meats, vegetables, nuts (almonds, flaxseed) fruits, potatoes, sweet potatoes, yogurt - desserts are my downfall, though.

Hope goodness awaits each of you today.
