Welcome back Cameron

yeah it's easy to underestimate the task. Have you though about what you might do differently this time?

Yes, I need a new routine. It's all about routine with me. It's specific in time so I know what I have to do.....I need to just keep on doing it.

Day 27

Man do you guys ever post like crazy.

Its crazy to think I've come this far. Four weeks is, I believe, the longest I've ever gone without a drink since I started down the rabbit hole.

Again, the cravings rarely hit. Especially the taste of alcohol, the idea of the taste, really just gives me the creeps almost. Sometimes I miss the sensation and the way it blocked out large chunks of time. But thats a silly thing to miss. My alcoholic world was its own little bubble of madness that I played around in that, as I've stepped out, I realize has little to no relationship with the real world.

That is why its scary to be without alcohol. But that is why its even scarier to drink.

Hey Team,

Made it through friday, I don't really count days anymore either, I've tried to get sober so many times I feel like it's pointless for me- just don't drink anymore JS....
If only it were so easy,...
Doing well though, navigating through a new life the best I can, I enjoy sobriety; its just that cravings crash in like a freight train out of nowhere sometimes, I'm learning to work through them.
I went on a sober first date yesterday- it was actually really nice, we met in the morning at university, got coffee and sat under a tree, not awkward and we never ran out of things to say.
I went to the spa yesterday, then got vietnamese take out and watched documentaries.
Today I'm planning on grocery shopping, fishing a little, homework and a DIY spa night at home

@Midton

Kinzoku means metal in Japanese. I used to make a lot of characters for role playing and for writing stories. Kinzoku was one such character. Liked the name.

I just somehow lost whole post, so frustrated.
Now I'm short on time. Had responses and thoughts for many of you.
So sorry.
Day 16, grateful for that, and for this class.
Let's make it through this weekend sober with each others' help guys...

I've lived in Japan for a long time. Figured it was a manga or something but wondered if you were living here too.

Today I'm doing a lot of playing the tape to the end. I knew today would be rough. Taking my younger daughter - my very observant daughter -
To a sleepover at 1pm. It would be very easy for me to buy some wine or beer and drink it through the the day and night. But... Really ...start drinking in the early afternoon after 16 days sober? How's that going to end? How's that going to feel tomorrow? Doing that is basically saying forget it--- to anything good going on in my life right now.

This feeling is temporary. I'm going to let it pass and come out on the other side.

Forabetterlife.... I'm in the same boat as you, tempted to just drink because I know "I could" but playing it through I don't want to be back in that hell again and I don't want to throw away 19 days of pretty good stuff, and all that trouble I went to, to do my detox, all those people that helped me. It would be a very temporary high for literally nothing. I'm about to make some tomato soup and take my boys to a scout campfire / sing along. I remember going last year and enjoying it but also thinking it went on way too long as I wasn't home till half 9 and had to delay my drinking till then. I guarantee I would have swallowed wine within 60 seconds of walking through the front door. I could delay it ok, but when it was available I needed it immediately. Sad. Not tonight. Will enjoy, come home, stay sober, log on and tell you about a few funny songs they learnt ; )))

Stopping by to say "hi".
Beautiful day here, doors and windows open. Washing all the bedding. One of my crazy wolfies burrowed down in my bed. Summer molt and smelly bone! Aaack. Just my husband and I today. Grands went home earlier in the day. They are a riot. Still having trouble focusing on any one thing. So I putter here and piddle there. Perchance I will complete one today.
Hugs to all. Sober today and grateful.

Day 3, staying strong. Weekends are easy, actually...it's during the week when I work that I get stressed and want to drink. But for now, I'm doing well!

Good job guys, we are doing this !

My teenage daughter works as a caregiver for a disabled woman a few days a week and this woman is really in a jam tonight with no one to help her. She is the sweetest, most amazing woman I may have ever met, I am grateful we met someone who is such an example of how someone can build such a beautiful, fulfilling life despite physical challenges. Anyway I have decided to go help her this evening , take her to church and give her dinner. Not only is she a pleasure to be with, but I really want to be there for her. Besides, I think if didn't , Id be sitting around stewing about drinking and this is so much more worthwhile.

So my dangerous night alone that I have been so worried about has worked itself out. I am grateful!

Great job on Day 18, Mr. Smith. I log on to SR every chance I get too. I find it to be a huge motivator and also a great source of strength.
