Thanks Cali! I'm gonna just ride it out in hopes that it will subside. I'm focusing on creating a more organized environment as lack of inspiration/creativity has been keeping me down. I think this is because my house and mind is so chaotic at the moment, so a good clean externally and internally should help with that.

Ff, can totally relate to what you are saying about organization. I looked at my work space the other day (really my whole house) and thought, egads, what happened? Of course nothing happened at all while I was drinking, which was part of the problem!

Once I get through these next couple of intense work weeks, im going to begin to tackle the worst places in the house. Not only will it make me feel calmer, it'll give me something productive to do in the evenings during my witching hour.

Hang in there, ff, and reach out for support if you need it. I've done that before and it really helps!

Day 20. Feel like a marathon runner who has hit the wall. I'm exhausted (not sleeping well again) and down, waiting for a change that ain't necessarily going to happen.

One thing I can guarantee Midton is that change will continue to occur
Don't lose heart - things got a little more constant for me after the first 30 days

I didn't mean to offend you at all, rar.

I read your posts as if the RLS was a new thing.
Obviously that's not case. My bad

Tonic water usually contains quinine - it will say on the label.
Just a suggestion that seems to work for me

Thank you everyone, I made it through the urges earlier. I'm now home and exhausted . A shower and bed is all I'm craving now. Goodnight everyone.

Checking in for the first time.
Day 4 for me and heading into the weekend. Yikes! I've "quit" many times, which usually lasts only days or weeks (I did go 35 days once). Now that I am up to about 3/4 - 1 full bottle of Vodka per night I realize it's gotta stop. The hangovers, guilt, and bad decisions have gotten old. Not sure if I can do it, but wish me luck

Oh - you didn't offend me at all Dee. I've had my RLS off and on for about 25 years. I do know that RLS can be alcohol related, though. I do have medication, but it doesn't work most of the time. I doubled the dose last night and it still didn't work. As I mentioned, it seems exercise makes mine worse. (I walked the golf course yesterday and it was particularly bad last night). Also, I read it gets worse as one ages. Maybe my birthday pushed the RLS over the edge. Unfortunately, the alcohol seemed to help at times, but that's not an option any more. Thanks for your input. I'll go in search of quinine water tomorrow.

I can attest that this works! I started cleaning and organizing the first few days of my sobriety. I felt MUCH, MUCH better. I've still got lots to do, but just a few clean, organized places makes one want to organize everything else.

Yep, this is me. Initially I felt great, when I think I should have been feeling the worst. Day 1-5 I had so much energy, getting out of bed was so easy. Now I'm back to dragging myself out like I did when I was hungover, I'm THAT tired when I wake, and all day.

I know it will pass though. I take comfort in the knowledge that there are countless people on this site that have been through the exact same thing and have come out the other side. Back to my old favourite saying 'This too shall pass'....just gotta stick with it for a little longer!

While I am not on Day 20 (yet), I feel the same way. I'm worn out too. I understand how you feel. I'm encouraged by Dee's words that it will get better soon.

Makin' me blush again!

I've never been an inspiration to anyone, so thank you, it helps give me the determination to beat this when I read things like this

great job Team September 2015 for staying sober today. Welcome Frank.

I know what you guys are saying…..days 2-8 plenty of energy and feeling great…the last two days headachy and lethargic. I went thru this a year ago….Dee is right, the 30 day mark is much better and then 60, 90 the changes are amazing. The brain and body needs to heal…literally not figuratively.

Hello again everyone. It's been a rough day, battling some cravings. Went to therapy and that didn't go well. Then there's my family deal. Grateful for this board and everyone here that reminds me why drinking is a bad idea. Stay sober everyone.
