Hey all!
Got all the computers fixed and Office 2010 activated on the Dell Venue 11 pro that died and was wiped under warranty repair. My license has been moved to each new computer so many times one of my ******** is blocked. I had to do the Microsoft call to the Indians and surprisingly got great help once I got him to slow down. Our new Windows Lumia 735 phones decided they would not "see" our Jabra Cruiser Bluetooth/FM transmitter hands free speakerphones. Got all four done finally. We have a spare as we won't hold phones or text except when Cortana reads them and takes dictation. Tech is terrific, no? I redid the system images of the two soon to be sold laptops. I put 256GB SSDs in them, maxed out the RAM, and am waiting for the 12 cell 8 hour batteries I ordered. That's why my friends wait on my cast offs. I make little over what I have in them as it is my hobby not for income per se. But I get to play and rate different setups.

Still moving furniture one room at a time. Everything is still in boxes and no wall art is up yet. All is still in boxes with the SH's office nook fully operational. Our recliners are clustered around the TV in the LR, and the mud room, laundry, kitchen, and bathrooms are almost finished. So all we have left is my office, the spare bedroom, and the living room to figure out. Then the outside decks and carport, gravel and pavers and by late November we might be out of construction site appearance and closer to finished outside landscaping too. It will be a mud hole this winter. Unless i can get some winter grass growing. No stress. Just slogging through the drudge work.

Gotta rack. 2AM!

Good night John boy.

Just when things were looking up - bam, life hits. I'm worried about my financial security, and I'm also worried about what affect this lay off will have on my husband's drinking.

I'm grateful for the tools I'm learning in recovery -acceptance of today's circumstances, living in the now, replacing worrying and forward tripping with faith. I also am learning that the vision I may have of my life isn't necessarily the one my HP has for me, and I'm developing faith that my HP will guide me to live my best. It just so happens that when I got the news about my husband's lay off, I was working on Step 3 with my sponsor.

AA is not the be all, end all for me. I have a full life doing fun things with people for whom recovery is the furthest from their mind. I do come to the Overs hoping to see everyone else's experience, strength and hope.

Thanks for the encouragement, Overs.

Gleefan! I'm so sorry about your stroke of luck. But, it will get better. You never know it could be the opening for your husband to get something better, or some other change that will be for the better in the end. Just keep moving forward and don't panic and things will sort out. Don't worry.

There is a lot of frost on the ground today oh and SNOWED AGAIN yesterday. Kind of heavily. It's clear today though but cold.
I love weekends. I love them so much. I was so stressed out last week. It was a crazy week.

Have a good saturday all.
Hey SW nice yard and cute dog.

Hi Overs!!

Been MIA for a little while, but all is going well for me. Currently cooking red cabbage that was grown by a friend in AA; making spiced red cabbage which is something I haven't had in ages and ages - smells delicious and am really looking forward to it (don't worry, no port or anything, just allspice and ginger and vinegar!)

Sassy,
Obsessive? Moi? I keep clones of every drive except the tablets for a fast repair if the on in it goes Toes up. There is a drive dock on both desktops and the Over the Air no subscription ChannelMaster DVR we got for no more cable. You buy it once, no fees after. I'm setting up a mini computer to the back of the main Plasma 60 inch soon to be replaced by a 4k UHD 60 online Black Friday or Cyber Monday. I've bought all my TVs online since 2003. I could go on but no one would believe.

I bought a new desk system and must clear out the cherry armoire desk for it delivery will be Monday or Tuesday.

Thanks Sober,
Your pics are terrific, and you are really into your feathered friends. Love reading about them.

You too FBL and Dee!

RZ I agree with you. Glee may not realize the strength we wasted on covering up our alcohol abuse and keeping the supply going that can be tapped in sobriety.

Glee,
Fear is not an option if you are busy and charting a new course. AA has some great advice there. I know as I used it.

My ES&H Glee are strangely showing larger reserves than I thought I had in me. It comes with time and sobriety.

IP,
You have a great one too and thanks for that link! I already bookmarked it and it sounds great.

Mags,
Many can't switch one on from fear, uncertainty, doubt- FUD, or poverty. No free library computers in the third world by and large. Thanks for reminding me! How are you doing?

FG that sounds delish! Scottish style must be great! I'm na fond of Haggis tho.

OK gotta go tackle the tech toys mess and get it organized. My "stuff." George Carlin says it best in this video that I've thought the best description about our stuff for the last fifty years or so! click here and enjoy:

Thanks Itch I know there going to happy when they visit tomorrow even more so I hope as we bought a couple houses for the winter to hang right near the top of the tree right out of harms way

Just saw a bit of the latest Dr who episode and the bit I saw was a station getting flooded & the Dr getting separated from the girl thing is it was very reminiscent of the scene between Charlie & Desmond the 'not penny's boat scene'
