Pink, I was expecting your post! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! This is such wonderful news!
Determined, thanks for the offer of two more cats, but Mr. Boomerang is more than enough cat for this house! Even Scooter looks at him as if to say What the.......?????? They play well together, but on a rare occasion, Boo gets up from wherever he is, walks right over to Scooter, picks up his paw and slaps him across the face....then quickly runs away.
Happy Thanksgiving , my fellow Americans! Bob and I are going to my sister's house in the Boston area. She is having at least 30 people. She is cooking two turkey breasts and her husband in deep frying a large turkey. I made three pies and cornbread and bought an assortment of rolls. My other sister and one sister-in-law are doing the vegetables, and nieces are doing appetizers and other desserts, so the hostess only has to worry about turkey, gravy and stuffing - along with setting the table, etc. All my brothers and sisters, except the one in Dallas, will be there. His wife and kids have not been to see us at least four years.....although we know they have been to NewYork .....oh, well. There is nothing I can do about that situation, and I have honestly found that the best thing for me to do is ignore it - - I still shudder when I think of all the phone calls last year at this time and the effect they had on me.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes about the job! It's further to travel than my current job so I did a dummy run today and it was ok. Still surreal! !!
Another cold day in blighty today, have just flicked on heating! !

I smiled when I ordered a virgin Bloody Mary yesterday.
My 11 year old asked what it was and I explained it- and said there was no alcohol in it. he said, "Dad, I knew there was no alcohol in it- I just wanted to know what it was!"

Ok, in a house wth relatives for the weekend, beer everywhere. Just went to the town center, pub every other store I am not kidding. I am bored and so ready to be out of here, not leaving until Sunday!! Uuhhgg!!

Other half has gone canoeing, I'm doing housework. This afternoon we are going to see an Agatha Christie show at the local theatre. Drunk linz would be booking interval drinks, sober linz Is putting haribo and popcorn in tupperware pots for snacks! Ha!

Greetings!
I had a surprising visit from my av today.....I was starting to sort ornaments, and listening to the radio, when I heard a recipe for mulled wine with brandy in it ......that is NOTHING I would drink when I was drinking, but suddenly it sounded delicious. That lead to a PityParty. Then, suddenly, I found the ugly little glass ornament my neighbor gave me last year, right after Christmas. She had asked me what my theme was going to be for this year, and I had told her my entire tree would be glass Santa ornaments, and she found this while shopping at Michael's a few days later. So, this little Santa perked me up today - so much, that I decided to put it on the couch and take a photo, AND I figured out how to use it as an avatar!
This ugly little thing will be front and center on my tree of Santas this year! The banner says it all ! !

Scooter and Determind well done for fighting strong, I'm proud if you guys. I have had the av staying over for the weekend to, I think it would like to lodge until the new year, so I am battling, being strong, and batting the balls back as fast as they are coming. This time of year is difficult, and drink would have been my go to, whether happy or sad. E can do this together my friends, let's make a pact to check in daily, even just to say 'hey all, all ok'.
The show yesterday was fantastic, and has spurred me on to watch more theatre in the new year, so I look forward to that! Today is about visiting a christmas fayre, and doing more gift shopping. Also visiting a garden centre to pick up some bulbs for my hanging baskets -I'm so rock and roll! Coffee and cake might also be on the agenda!
