Checking in for another 24hrs. 6.35pm in Western Australia. Day 5 done.
Horrible day at work today...burst into tears in front of my staff and on the phone to the boss. Must've sounded like a sniveling idiot...so embarrassing and very unprofessional..they have no idea about my alcoholism...so i am so very grateful that today is over and i am still sober.

Good morning, friends. So much going on in this thread. I'm excited to hear about the cooking contest, Peppermint Patty, and glad you found the great engineers, Goat. I'm sorry about the emotional outburst at work, Mish. Tomorrow you will be better and stronger.

I can be free of my old enslaving self. After a while I recognize, and believe in, the good within myself. I see that I have been loved back to recovery by my Higher Power, who envelops me. My Higher Power becomes that source of love and strength that is performing a continuing miracle in me. I am sober . . . and I am grateful. ( from AA daily reflection )

On the other hand, sometimes it doesn't hurt for employees to see you more as a human being and not just a boss. And your boss (unless he/she is a total butthead) is probably more worried about how he or she contributed to that situation.
