Aw! I love dogs. Sometimes it's love/annoy but it's always love deep down. I have had a dog continuously for 19 years now and I think I need a break when she's got to depart. How I wish I wasn't allergic to cats. I need something that is less demanding. My dog runs my life. I know it's my fault cause she expects things because I taught her to expect them over time, but that makes me even madder cause she is my own creation.

This time of day, I'm continually being stared down. Looking for the next treat or whatever all the way up until I turn out all the lights and go to bed. Sometimes it's a marrow bone, sometimes just a few little biscuits. Sometimes a rawhide "flippity" (as I call them). The last few things she gets right before bed is her aspirin inside a piece of hot dog (lately, just a little bit of bread) and a piece of a carrot. I did this to myself.

And in between each treat, she wants to go in and out, mainly to bark at stuff and not go potty. I need a break after she's gone. I know my heart will be broken but there has to be a different kind of pet that is more my speed.

Had to look back to be sure but today is day 6! And yes; Sao had my answer that I was going to give to you, Vanecia. I'm just one day at a time. Either that's really all it takes or it's a load of bull crap.

Went out to get a birthday card for my "mum" cause we're going to that restaurant tomorrow. Yeah, Sao. Very popular restaurant. One of the things that they have that is so killer is battered and fried (or baked?) eggplant sticks. OMG! If they order those when we're there for pizza and an antipasto salad, I will be in agony. Can't eat anything battered when eating LC. I could eat only those eggplant sticks and nothing else and be 100% satisfied.

Can't wait for tomorrow to be behind me. The sister thing, the beer thing, the carb thing, the whole dang thing. Sometimes I miss living far from family. I'm just "family'd out", just like I'm feeling "dog'd out." I need a vacation from everything so I can come back and find what I have more interesting and more of a blessing. Calgon, take me away!

So I got the mail and I got my very first renter's rebate check! Just in the nick of time cause I was down to under $60 in the bank and have to take Cisco to the Vet next week. Now I can keep that appointment and go take care of little Miss Nag's a'Lot.

For anyone who's never heard of a renter's rebate, it's a program that is available to help those of low income with a once a year check, based on your income. I would have gotten $500 back but I had made $200 too much last year so I got $250. Still, I'm so happy cause they just started taking new applicants. They had closed the program down to anyone new applying a year or two ago then opened it up again this year. I got my documents just in the nick of time and applied the day before the deadline.

So I went to the bank after that to deposit the check and went to the Dollar General store to buy my mother's card. Just got wise and stopped spending $6 or more dollars at the drug store for a card. Every little bit helps.

6pm here and it's getting dark so I need to go close up all the blinds and turn on some windows. The stare down "bewitching hours" have begun. I hope you all have a lovely night/day and I'll ttyt, before the restaurant. Anyone of you who prays, I'd appreciate some support for getting through tomorrow. (((Hugs)))

You all still being good?

Lol :-D Wow, Sao!!! That is a claim to fame and a half! I've fallen for one bad boy in my life. Pretty masochistic on my part. Needless to say it was a big, big mistake. I wouldn't touch a bad boy with a forty foot barge pole now.

Venecia, she is *adorable* :-)

Cissy, I have put one up for you. You will be fine. I'll feel good about it :-) Still going strong here on the no drinking front. We went to a (children's) book launch yesterday. Someone tried really hard to force a wine on me but I insisted on the fruit juice. It felt good - I felt proud of myself, and I had lovely conversations with people that I remember clearly. It's so much easier and more enjoyable to socialise when you're not drunk! Who would have thought?!! Fantastic about the rebate - just in the nick of time! Love it :-)

P.S. Sao, did you watch the rugby??!!! 'French Toast' was one headline that I saw :-D

I meant to say too, how bloody ridiculous it was that Prince Harry was criticised in the media for rooting so overtly for England at the game. Geez....if that isn't one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

(Ex) Mrs Ronnie Woods is more than a bit of a looker. Go Sao!!

Hola!

So I guess I'm the bad one here that used to do coke :/
I used to do everything, but for some reason I never got hooked on drugs, they made me paranoid thankfully, alcohol is my poison.

I just jump in with short messages too because I post on pretty much every thread here haha, but I read all the posts.

Tomorrow begins the diet from hell- no sugar, dairy, gluten, caffeine or anything processed for a month, after 2 weeks I can have fruit again.
I have created a health issue for myself with wine :-( that's why I have to eat this way, to correct it- oopsie
Xoxo

I don't pray Cissy but good luck today, i'm sure it will be fine

Cute pooch Venecia - a Scottie?

You are not using now Jen, that's the most important thing . Soren Kierkegaard would approve

Tooshabby you made me laugh. Girls often have at least one bad boy in their CV. Born to be mild isn't much of a draw is it

Yeah she still looks good, I managed to keep her a secret from the former Mrs Saoutchik for a couple of years, she wasn't impressed when she found our. My daughters were shocked that any women would go out with me lol!

Jen, I didn't do coke, but I would have if it wasn't something I was afraid I couldn't get control over. It was offered to me 3 times in my adult years and I always had the good sense to say no thanks. I did other things, though I smoked pot (THAT was something that really had a hold on me) and took pills of various kinds but never shot anything up. Sounds like a strict diet. Hope you do well on it, knowing it's only for a few weeks.

Shabby, WTG on having the juice vs the wine! So proud of you!!! And thanks for the prayer.

Sao, thanks for the well wishes for today. It's almost crunch time. Actually, I need to get ready in a hurry. I slept like crap last night, even with all meds onboard. My mind just wouldn't shut off. Wish there was a pause button.

Bbl! Going in there (the restaurant) in a peaceful state of mind and will take a breath and choose my words to anything said to me with care. Respond, don't react.

Day 7.

Sounding strong, Cissy!!

I didn't do coke, Jen. I was like you though, tried a few things but no problem with addiction there. I was pretty bad with pot for a while, but alcohol has really been my downfall.

That's so sweet you tried to keep it a secret, Sao. I'm a bit loathe to admit I wouldn't like any partner of mine to have had some former gorgeous famous person as an old flame.....ouch!!!

So what's with Kierkegaard, Sao? (cos I sure as heck am not going to read it).....did he say it doesn't matter what we did or chose in the past, it's the now that counts, or something?

Tsk tsk.......a Scottie indeed. Some Brit you are, Sao!! Scotties are the black ones that look like a broom without a handle. That's a Yorkie :-)

Lol! I am an ignorant townie - a Yorkie Venecia.

Jsbodhi is studying philosophy Tooshabby which is quite hard . Soren Kierkegaard was Danish from olden times she brought open sandwiches to lectures to make things a bit easier. She also invented Lego

Ha ha!!! In a blonde moment I was just about to write I was positive Kierkegaard was a bloke...then I thought, hang on a minute...open sandwiches and lego? And 'I'm pink therefore I'm spam' was Descartes, wasn't it??!!! Doh!!!

Love it. You're a wily one, Sao :-D

I'm thinking that depending on where Cissy lives, time zone-wise, the dinner has come and gone. I hope it went well for you!

Prince Harry. The ginger beard is quite fetching. Oh to be young ... he's quite a handsome guy and fun, to boot. Which I guess you can be when you're the spare and not the heir. Alas, I am old enough to be his -- well, out of his age bracket. And yes, Shabby, a belated "well done" on the juice. It really does get easier.

There have been several Mrs. Woods. If your former flame is the one I am thinking, Sao, all I can say is "cool!" After going to the Stones concert in June, I read Keith's autobiography. If the former Mrs. Woods is the one I'm thinking of, she wound up saving Keith's life several years back after some misadventures in the South Pacific involving boats and a coconut tree. So if history had played out differently and it was *she* who became Mrs. S., and therefore not Mrs. Woods in the South Pacific, rock n' roll as we know it, circa 2015, wouldn't be the same.

Sao, though you may not know the difference between a Yorkie and a Scottie, you may have saved rock n' roll!

I hope so too, Cissy.

Thanks, Ven. And yes, Harry is the proverbial 'bomb'.

I feel extremely lucky to have met you all, too ;-)

Hey, Sao, funny....it was only about a week ago I noticed that penguin was standing on ice, and I realised it was real. I thought it was a stuffed toy - I didn't know a live critter could be that cute!

Hope my Stones cred isn't too damaged. It's Wood, not Woods.
