Hey, FABL, its so good to see you posting here again! Thanks for the update, and please stick with us.
Croissant, glad to hear you're doing really well and feeling good.
Snoozy, you're doing well and I'm glad to hear you're feeling strong.
I saw my psychiatrist yesterday and for now, he's keeping me off meds other than a small dose of lorazepam at night. Letitgo, I do understand what you were talking about with your psychiatrist and the meds. Hope you're ok.
I've had some physical/emotional effects, withdrawing off my antidepressant. I hope they clear up soon.
I had a really great visit with my friend, stayed overnight with her. We have a lot in common and I've opened up to her about my drinking history, she's very supportive and compassionate as you all are here!
I start an acting class in the city tomorrow. A bit nervous about it, I'd enrolled when I was feeling well, but anxious or not, I'll see it through!

Lesharrrrrr I'm so proud of you for joining the acting class :-) but for the life of me I cant understand why your psychiatrist is taking you off of your ADs ! How do you feel about that ?

I know when I've weaned off I've gone right downhill. Being an MD, what would you suggest to a patient in the same situation with your history.

Seems to me every time you get right & start feeling good he does weird things with your meds ? Just my Opinion , but that has seemed to be the cycle for you.
I know you're feeling so much better now & I'm thrilled I really am for you , but maybe you could just question it next time .

I'm glad you shared with your friend , we all need that someone to talk to . I bet you felt like it was a huge release .

You sound in a good place sweetheart ️xxx

Crois , it WAS the Jamie Oliver one and ....I ate it all to myself. Obviously didn't have dinner though lol xxx

How is everyone going today dear Julyers :-)

Lol , isn't it funny how the mention of food snowballs. I bought another cheesecake for when I ran out. It's a woollies own brand.

It's a caramel macadamia ...omggggggg :
They also have a lemon ....omgggggg:

Each time I get a craving , I go and cut a slither ( well it was a slither at first ) then I have to go back for another

Then have a little sip of iced coffee to go with it & voila ! Craving disappeared.

Omg am I gonna get FAT !!!!

In a way I wished I hadn't found them , but as advice from my doc , eat it. It's better to put on weight than to waste away slowly killing myself with poison.

So , my friends , they are my doctors orders ... bahahaha

Leshar,

I wish you the best in tapering and withdrawal. I had very a unpleasant experiance earlier this year. Your DR will help you taper slowky hopefully.

I saw my gp and he is proud i have quit smoking. Going keep an eye on the random insomnia .
He told me I could see him for my anxiety and meds of necessary so its good to have a back up. I feel completely stupid calling him about running out of meds. He probably thinks i am pill popper and there is a reason why my psychiatrist did want to fill it orginally. It doesn’t help being unavailable and out of state either.

My orginal psych would have done it and understood. I remember he gave me a prescription and i washed it in the washing machine. No bs. He called a new on in with no questions asked. I am hooked on the meds. They help me with my anxiety. I hope to get off them. However, even being smoke and alcohol free i get bad anxiety and panic attacks. I dont feel i am abusing my meds. Just making my case worse now. It bothers me to have been worrying about withdrawal and creating a perception i am just trying to get meds. Now i feel stupid about the whole thing. Ok i let it go. Thats all i have to say on the matter.

Don't ever feel stupid about it Letitgo . It's really good that you have the guts to be honest .
We all withdraw differently.
He is your GP . If you need them for anxiety well you do and he is the best judge of that .

I love your honesty :-) xx

I'm sure your GP knows you're not a pill shopper, letitgo - most doctors are pretty cluey about that.

I'm on medication too for various things. I'm still in recovery

Try not to worry too much about your anxiety meds, letitgo; if you are taking them for a valid reason and as prescribed, trust yourself and your doctor that they maintain and enhance your emotional wellbeing (and, in turn - as our systems don't work in isolation, your total well-being). You and your doc will know when it is right to stop the meds; your doc will advise and formulate a weaning schedule when the time comes.

This will work out, in good time.

Allergies are the worst. I used to have them badly until I moved to a different climate. I don't like where I live OR the warm climate, but I'm happy to have lost the allergies.

Having a quiet night at home tonight. My stepmom was here for dinner, we are very close and it's so hard for her to be alone after being married to my dad for 35 years . But we have each other

This Saturday she and I are going to the Wayne Dyer I Can Do it conference. He passed away a few weeks ago sadly, but there will be 8 speakers and lots of vendors and exhibits. I never get to do things like this and I'm so excited ! Hoping that the spiritual energy, positive vibes and lectures really boost my commitment to sobriety as well.

Tomorrow will be one week for me . It's a start

Have a great day/ night everyone !
HI, FABL - great to see you.

I am so sorry to hear about your dad; hugs to you.

Hope you enjoy the conference.
