Thanks for the lovely bd wishes everyone! It was a good day. I actually did eat cake and pie. Better than sneaking wine all night though right?

My daughter has off school today so we are going apple picking at a local pumpkin patch. Going out to dinner tonight with my mom. Trying to keep away any temptation of drinking alone while hubby is out.

Hope you all have a wonderful day/night. Much love and thanks

Just cried and cried through the AA meeting last night, but better to have gone.
I'm in TO for my acting class tomorrow so I'm looking forward to it and being with people. Mornings are worst atm but I'm working really hard. I cannot numb out with stuff any more. My sister emailed and told me she's now spending compulsively, especially online, since she quit her job. That's one thing I don't do, I'm terrified about running out of money. I think that our family has addictive tendencies. My poor nephew who committed suicide was not only depressed but was in debt because of addictive gambling. I hope this chronic feeling of sadness, melancholy will pass.
I'm mired in what a **** I was to Larry when I was drinking. Can't seem to stop obsessing about that. He was worried about my drinking. He said just before he died "I'm worried you're going to become an alcoholic" meaning after he died and I'd be alone. Well, I was drinking alcoholically long long before, it's certainly become horribly worse with blackouts since he died.
Sorry, don't mean to go on, I have to accept that I cannot change the past. I will do my best today. Just wonder why the cravings are so massive this last day or two?
Stay strong, everyone.

Wow Leshar I am truly sorry your going through a rough patch. I can relate to feelings of hopelessness and sadness. It all feels so overwhelming in sobriety. I dont express my feelings through crying but more through rage and anger. I find myself getting so upset i go for a drive. Just to get away from eveyone and thing. I try to tell myself I will feel better tomorrow. However, the time seems to stop when those emotions appear. I try to rationalize and be mindful when i am in a better frame of mind. It will get better and normally does.. I wish you well.

Thanks, letitgo, you are a dear. I really like your "signature" line, by the way. I was thinking of it yesterday as I continue to clear away stuff. Wow, so much undone, accumulated because I drank and made excuses.
Hope you're ok today.

Leshar, honey .
I know it's hard reliving the negatives , I do it all the time myself.
But that wasn't the real you when you were mean to Larry. It was the drink.
Shaun told me I was starting to get mean drinking. I'm never like that sober.

Larry would have known this .

You have to give yourself permission to forgive yourself. As I've said before , I'm sure Larry is your guardian angel and he knows you are sober.

Don't ever give in to those cravings , it's all LIES! It's NOT fun & it's all downhill from that first sip.

You've come way too far. I know you say is this all there is at times but drinking will take you to sheer hell and back. Or maybe you wouldn't come back. Some just keep drinking.

It's no picnic

Each relapse is harder to recover from. I absolutely do NOT want this for you. You are too good a person.

Talk to Larry and when you find yourself thinking negative , just think of how proud he would be of you.

I know we ALL are here

Xxx

You've been sober for over two years now. Larry would be so proud of that and happy for you. Try focusing on that when those thoughts hit you.

Glad you're being active with AA meeting and acting classes, etc. Those are great steps forward, Leshar.

Wishing everyone a happy and sober day today...

Leshar, I echo what Snoozy and Casey said. I know all about regret, but it just keeps you from enjoying today and being able to move forward. You have to forgive yourself. Easier said than done, I know. Sending you hugs today

Has anyone ever felt like drinking after reading a post. I got that tonight from someone who relapsed. It made me want to run out and get some champagne.
I couldn't shake it but knew it wouldn't last long.

I got up and made a cuppa tea and had some lemon merringue cake.
The sweetness and the hot drink were divine as its freezing here.

It passed, I'm good , feeling very strong ...woohooooo

Larry's words spoke volumes about his feelings for you, sweet Leshar; he loved you despite anything and he loved you until the very end. My guess is that the goodness he saw in you far outweighed any unpleasantness.
