Kitty! ((Hug)) get back up and start again! I'm sorry you fell it happens. I'm like Dee (cats meow...wink wink joking Dee ((hug))!) get a better plan and a better reaction when faced with triggers or pressure feeling like you can't say no. You can say no! Don't be ashamed that you are an alcoholic. I'm too vocal for my own good. It bites me a lot. I think people shy away from me, but oh well you're gonna know I'm alcoholic cause it's my #1 priority. Keeps me accountable saying no. It's a small victory that makes me stronger each time it happens.
Certainly don't think of your sobriety as a defect! My gosh even normal people have character defects way greater than alcoholism! Think of yourself as wired differently! It's not a shameful thing that you can't drink normally. Find your power in this. Take it by the horns. You need to own this. There are so many more facets to your character and being alcoholic is just one you gotta put a new spin on! We can still be fun have fun and make fun sober!
((Hug)). just my two cents! You can do this I believe in you!

I'm alive. The misses apologized to me, and bought me a donut. Time to plug in the guitar and do some soul cleansing.

My doctor prescribed librium for me after my pancreatitis attack and I take it in the evenings when I'd normally be craving a drink. It has helped. Don't be afraid to use the tools you have; it's better than ending up in the ER like I did.

For everyone that has relapsed, please stay with us. This is your home. We are your friends and your support system. You don't have to go off and start over with a new "class" or whatever. This is what we are here to do, support one another through thick and thin.

I'm off to my riding lesson in a few minutes. I hope everyone has a very happy Saturday!

Last night was painfully difficult. Home alone and the AV was so flipping loud and cunning that I WANTED desperately to give in. I drowned it by eating a sh*t load of ice cream. I didn't like the ice cream and felt bloated and horrible. My sick little AV was saying, "Come on...others are taking a night off...go ahead..." So it's kind of a conundrum, did my AV use recent slips to play tricks, or are we having more recent slips because that's part of the stage we're in?

I didn't give in, but I don't feel particularly victorious today. I feel dark...sad...hollow...and fat.

Well, this post is anything but uplifting! Sorry. Gotta work on finding the sunshine. Have a great Saturday Augustables.

Hey ARGH, sorry I suggested you apologize to the Misses without knowing the story. I see it was the other way around, and I'm glad she said sorry to YOU. Glad to see you're back.

JL! Big Hug back at you!!!! Thanks, I do need to let go of the hurt. It's hard because my family is so small, just my sis and mom, I couldn't have kids, mom was only child... And I only try to stay close to sis for my moms sake really. She really cares for no one except her own kids and complains incessantly about my mom, which irks. My husband and I just end up getting depressed when we visit (don't live close), because it's like our presence is a problem because the "kids" (age 26-33) have to arrange time to see us and sis says that's so hard for them. Boo frickin Hoo. We were told last Christmas Eve to only stay 2 hours so "her family" could open gifts and couldn't until we (mom, hubs and I) left. Yesterday heard same type deal regarding upcoming visit to mom, got so hurt, again. So I will maintain civility while my mom is still with us for her sake and then quit trying. Getting it out here helps. Sorry for long post and thanks for support yesterday everyone.

I do not feel guilty about the occasional Librium. Lesser of the evils, doesn't put me in hellacious despair/anxiety like alcohol. It was too hot to go outside yesterday to work off AV so hope it cools off a bit today for a nice lagoon walk, beach will be packed still on weekends .

Benice, I think around 30 days is notoriously difficult from reading around here, also 90 days lots of AV yapping It seems. Why we are Augustable Strong is everybody gets back up immediately! I hope so anyway; that the ones who disappeared are just busy rather than relapsed.

ARGH, glad to see u back here. We would have missed your nonsense as well. I had a horrible one night binge that brought me to my knees for days, hope the guitar helps you work it out, nice outlet.

. Kitty, work sitch is hard for me too. BBG , Colei, Retread, Key, yoga, van, brighter have a great Saturday. Troy how u be?

I am back to day 1 today.. .. I let AV tell me " you have gone 33 days - you dont have a problem - you can drink" and I listened.

I ended up drinking a bottle of prosecco and when that was gone had a couple of beers. It was stupid and I woke up this morning with a swollen face.. I didnt do anything stupid and I dont have a hangover but it wasn't worth it. Spent the evening at a friends house- we didnt do anything except talk and watch a movie- I could have done that without the alcohol and I decided not to, UGH!

Picking myself back up- resetting the clock and determined to go again.. Wont listen to AV again..

Creativespirit, I used to call Prosecco "a party in a bottle". I still think it's bubbly and fun...for someone else! Yep, we can do without. I'm starting to think the one day slip is just a reinforcement that we are on the right path. Just a thought anyway.

Have a great Saturday.

I agree - the slip makes me more certain that I am on the right path.

Learn from it creative spirit and move on. I'm day 2 today, feels much better than day 1. Can already feel the difference in my mood after the alcohol has metabolized completely. Stay strong!

To everyone else fighting have a great sober weekend!

Music is a double edged sword. It's both an outlet and an inlet. A lot of negatives, a lot of negatives.

At least in my dumb circles
