Sadie..thanks I don't know how darling it is Lol..sometimes the things Loretta would say were shocking. Even with that southern drawl..Lol People definitely pick up on it though and usually call me out on it.

JL...I think you'd be more southern sounding than I am. Lol Georgians tend to I know, so maybe South Carolinians too.. (I think you said you were from there. My apologies if I got that wrong)

I'm not sure...do Canadians have an accent? Can't say I recall the last time I've heard anyone speak who was from Canada? (Troy)

DAY 59 for me!

Congrats to the milestoners today! Remember when you said it was something you couldn't live without?? Look at you go living and stuff! (Read this and it always make me smile! It had cuss words so I omitted those)
I'll be hanging out so everyone make it a good day!

((Hug))

Phantom hangover ...happens now and then after drinking dream. Swollen eyes, headache, anxiety. Might be the wheatgrass shot that did it maybe allergy to it? Eating too much soy lately so cutting back on that. Lazy vegetarians source of protein. Making time for a walk this am.

Aboot the Canadian accent, it's real, pretty obvious too , eh? It's just as Troy typed. Cute! The most polite drivers in the world I have encountered are in Vancouver. Troy, is it easy access to a physician in Thailand to get meds like SSRI? Why Thailand to live, did u visit and like it or is it for work?

Key, you seem happier last few days.. Glad you are out of doldrums!
JL, love your gratitude work. Brighter, how is stapled finger? Anything to do with staplers I think of Office Space the movie and giggle, sorry, I'm sure it hurt! Hoops, creative, vana glad u are still racking up days!
Sober sissies kitty and Patricia, day 30 will be huge!

Bexxed, calling Bexxed

Wheatgrass sounds kinda frightening to me !
On the other hand, I eat spam, so that horrifies some .
Key- yea N Ga mtn ppl have a "dialect" for sure. My mother is from SC. They have that movie severe accent. I had some good service buddies from Ky. Good guys , we stay in touch actually. After 20 plus yrs there's less of us for sure. USMC vets don't have as long if a shelf life as others it seems. Some had a lot on their plate at times.
Troy I've been to Phuket, twice on 1 week passes each time. I miss that bay. Beautiful. If memory serves that area may be gone from a tsunami. Horrible if correct. Most guys went to partake of the seediest local pastimes they could find. I think we , however, first signed for mui tai? Kickboxing. We all got the absolute
S--t beat out of us by student fighters half our size, who eventually took pity on us. The rest of the week was spent at the massage / herb/ acupuncture local place. ( not the freaky places).
I'd have liked to find an actual monastery but we had no time to actually explore anything. Food was awesome

I was going to post a link to a list of Canadian words, but it had a whole section dedicated to booze with photos and everything, so I thought that wouldn't be appropriate...maybe later on when we all have some more sober time I will...so the list goes into the garburator, right Troy? lol

I had the craziest urge this afternoon for some wine. Preferably red. Ugh! My AV has been pretty quiet prior to that. And then all of a sudden BAM!!! I don't want to give in so I've been eating and eating and eating non-stop all evening...

Made a yum salad with farro, watermelon, tomato, shallot, fresh basil and mint and seared Houlami cheese. Dressing red vinegar , bit of honey, olive oil. Ate way too much of it. It did shut up AV tho. Dreading work trip to Chicago next week, that's why AV is yapping.

Patricia, garburator, hah! Had to google it

Cleaned out my pantry today...no. That doesn't imply that I ate everything. I actually threw out a lot of junk from years past. Found some chai pear bourbon butter I made and canned a few years back. I used pears from the tree in my back yard. And some pretty cheap bourbon...probably old grandad...? I cooked that stuff down quite a bit so the booze should've cooked out, but I was still very timid about tasting it to make sure it kept well over the years.... Still not sure if I should actually eat much of it....I have been fairly craving free...not even tempted to go down the booze isle at the grocery. Not willing to taste-test the new beers on draft to describe them to curious customers at work....I'm just like, " here's a sample...you tell me..." It's kinda annoying, but better than feeling like garbage. I would like to say my moods are better but I think I'm getting acquainted with my inner grump that I've been drowning for a decade. I have been a lot less social and more productive with my time. Just checking in. I like to see how everyone's doing... Hang in there team August!

My husband asked me on a date next weekend. Dinner and a movie, and then we'll spend the night in a hotel in the big city. I like the idea of going out, the routine is killing me...I just don't feel very romantic since I stopped drinking. Is this normal? Right now I wouldn't even go on a date with George Clooney! What is wrong with me...

I read somewhere that yes it seems to be normal to not feel romantically inclined. I guess all the changes our bodies are going through. Nice gesture to take you on a date Patricia! Myself I love date nights!
Glad to hear from you Coleiope!

Good morning augustables,

Glad to see everyone seems to be laughing!!!
Patricia...I agree with you. Not interested in romance right now. Lovely gesture on your husbands part though...enjoy the time together away from the routine.

Troy, the only place in canada I have been is mont tremblant. My husband did the ironman race there last summer. Absolutely beautiful...expensive though. More expensive than manhattan. My family loved it. We would certainly go back!

Gotta get ready for work...shout outs to all celebrating milestones!!!*****!!!

It's Friday, enjoy the weekend xo
