Yes cryings good.
I cried today looking at a CNN photograph of a 2 yr old boy who drowned w his mother and brother, trying to escape the hell on earth in Syria.
I was in the area in the early 90s during my USMC days.
Really hit me hard for some reason.
Put a face to all the news going through media, that has lost it's "pizazz" for headlines.

Hello Class - Quit Day

He doesn't drink much, but sometimes he would bring home a bottle of something, so he could enjoy a cocktail on his day off...imagine my embarrassment when the bottle was half gone the next day:/ he was always astounded. "When did you even drink that, I couldn't tell you were drunk?!" Needless to say the bottle was either hidden(by him), or gone in less than 48 hours if I could find it. I have a nasty old bottle of amaretto and an ancient bottle of Kahluah in the lazy Susan. I won't touch them though, too low ABV and sweet for me.

Hey Class,

Well it looks like August 17th is a popular quit day - congrats to Gjess and Coleiope! August 17th is my quit day as well, so today is my day 30. A big congrats to everyone in the class as well - we're still here and fighting and to me that is what counts. The last time I went alcohol free for a month was 2 years ago - I drank again and it all went downhill. I really hope to avoid that mistake this time! All the best to everyone and let's stay with it.

Damn, you were stationed in the Middle East? You must have seen a fair bit during your days, eh? I'm assuming you either can't or don't want to talk about any of it, so won't push.

Anyway, been listening to music more than usual lately. Here's a good one I like...

Hi all,

Yes Troy, I am ok. Thanks for asking!!! I am a pretty emotional person so I always love a good cry. Makes me feel better in the long run. Sorry to hear you are lonely but glad you are still here and posting!!! We miss you when you are not around...

Calliope, gjess and Sadie....I too, was a bottle hider. I have them hidden in places all over my house. My husband and family always watched any alcohol we have in the house. Which is rarely any. Well actually more now that 2of my kids are of drinking age. My husband and son will have a beer or 2while watching a ball game. Then it sits in the fridge in the garage til next weekend. I will never touch their stuff bc I know they would be counting.. Sick thoughts. I only drink at home when I can sneak it. I originally got sober 10 years ago and stayed sober for like 6. The times I have relapsed are always home alone. It starts off with a few one day then eventually takes over. Then I get really drunk, my family figures it out, I feel terrible that I let them down AGAIN and the whole thing starts over. Anyone I go out with knows that I don't drink. Crazy how we think!!!!

Anyway....off to another work day. Glad to see everyone seems okay. Have a great Wednesday xo

Wednesday here day 58
I'm feelings very well. I'm still experiencing some extreme tiredness tho. Think I'll buy some vitamin B12 and D and see if they give me some energy. I got to call my doctor anyway so I'll see if my bp med is too low and making me feel so sluggish. Other than that I'm just chillin'!
Hump day and yes I love the camel commercial it makes me smile and laugh!

Hi All

So wonderful to read of so many people doing well. I found out yesterday that I didn't get the job I really wanted and was in the process of interviewing for.... long process. Almost went and got a bottle of wine because my AV said "who cares if you drink if you cant get your life together" .. I went to the store and bought a sugar free pie and ate half of it instead. Went to bed early and got up this morning very happy that my string of alcohol free days is still unbroken.. Today is day 25 and I am determined to press on- I will find a job soon and I will stay sober!!

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday.. Stay strong or if you have slipped pick yourself back up and keep trying..

22 days!! We made it past the 3 week mark sober sisters!

I've got a hella busy week so gotta run. I'm proud to be doing it without alcohol. I've received several invites out to drinking events and have passed bc I don't feel strong enough yet. But Saturday I have plans with a sober friend so, yay Keep truckin y'all.

Sorry to hear you are still drinking, Troy. Stop telling yourself that lie that you need booze to quell loneliness. Take it from me, booze only amplifies the loneliness. You know this. Xo

Congrats on 58 days Key..that is AWESOME.

Ive been struggling with low energy too- B vitamins, probiotics and multis have started to help me. Also- Ive started sniffing peppermint essential oil for a pick me up- it really works. Studies have shown that athletes perform better with peppermint oil.

Sorry about the job, but so glad you didn't drink over it. You WILL find a job soon, just have to keep putting yourself out there until it happens.

KeyofC, 58 days is wonderful.

My energy has been kind of low lately, too. I've been working hard and long hours so I have been attributing it to that, but I could be better about taking my multivitamin every day. My doctor told me I should be taking that, but some days I forget. Hope we all start getting past all these tired days. I'm ready for some energy again.

Tomorrow's day 30 for me. Who's going out for beers with me?
Badum-tish.

ugh. Been craving, but not really fearing that I'd act out on it.

Bexxed, is everything ok? Sure hope you post soon.

Troy, you know I am assembling a class calendar. Should I put today down as your new day one? Remember, that means no alcohol. Including no beer. As you can read from our posts, it is really hard. But you know that. You know we are here searching for help with total abstinence, for today. Is that what you are here for too?

Made it another 24. I am grateful to have clear eyes and a clear head.

Thanks you guys! Ya'll are just the bomb.com!! I am so glad to have ya'll... I am southern..remember to think of how Loretta Lynn talks and that's how I sound. I use to impersonate Loretta, Barbara Madrell, Patsy Cline, and Brenda Lee to the tee.. (More so Loretta and Little Miss Dynamite). I had to learn their speaking voice as well as their mannerisms. Hard to break this habit after 19 years..Lol oh well "I was country, when country wasn't cool!" (And proud of it!) Haha

I'll second that...come on Troy, get those sober days stringing together. Next time you're craving post here first and we'll all help you

I've just been up a and e. I stapled my finger at work (stop laughing) happy to be sober today. 4 weeks ago tonight I drank my last drink. I woke up/came to with blood streaming down my face, bruises all over my body and absaloutly no recollection of what I'd done. I then drove my car
Never never never ever never again. EVER!! Will I drink.
