Day 4. Up at the ridiculous time of 4:30, raining yet again and I'm off to the doctor and physio as my backs playing up again. Despite all this I actually am in a positive frame of mind. I am happy to be on this path again.
Hey Canguy, welcome back! I'm glad you're here The support from this group continues to be strong and inspiring - I hope that you join us The last four months haven't been easy for me - lots of highs but some very low lows (including three slips for me) but I'm here because I am sober and being sober is the only way I can safely live my life. I'm hope you stick around. There is lots of hope here!
It just occurred to me as I am leaving for work, that I used to grab a bottle of water each day to drink in the car before work. I forget that I was always so dehydrated every morning from drinking, and that was made worse by cup after cup of coffee needed to get my butt in gear. Just a totally random thought!
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, the boy is off to school! All is well here, a change in the daily schedule. I have to keep myself entertained and busy at home. Starting the day off with a walk with the dog before I hit the accounting hard. I have some catch up to do after a slacking all summer!
Good morning, All! Glad to hear everyone is hangin in there.
SG, I look back on all the routines I had to support my drinking and it is crazy. I always hated the way my coffee tasted when I was hungover. My drinking eventually got so bad that I could not stomach coffee (or much else) in the morning without wanting to puke. Yuck!!
Inc, glad to hear things are moving forward. Try to get some rest if you can!
Cauliflower, I hope your day goes well! Sounds like you have a peaceful morning planned.
I'm doing surprisingly well today. I have a few new tasks at work which has motivated me. Yesterday was a good day too. Didn't go to the gym bc I had other chores, but went out for a walk at sunset and it was very peaceful. I also made a doctors apt which is good progress. It's not for three weeks so I just have to take things one day at a time until then.
Hope you all have a good one!

So for five years, every Wednesday (end of my week)I have stopped at the liquor store across from my work. Same order every week. A 1.75L of rum and a big box of Aussie Chardonnay. I am tempted to just walk in and see if anyone there has missed me this summer. Probably not, liquor stores are basically legal drug dealers, just with people showing up on time and sporting clean shirts.

So I don't manage to check in for a couple of days and half of April comes back, and someone has a birthday. Maybe I should stay away more often.
Anyway, belated Happy Birthday Amp! I hope you had a good day, and sorry I missed it.
Midton, really good to see you back here, and Canguy I hope you stay around - you belong here. I won't tell you what you already know but I am sending you my encouragement and support.
I have nothing special to report - been working until I dropped for a few days, finally now get to take a breather. Oh I passed 5 calendar months sober this week, which is pretty cool
I am really glad we are all doing well!
Best wishes

Hey OMD, 5 months is such an amazing feet. I get a lot of strength from stuff like that when I'm not so strong myself!
Also, I very rudely forgot to welcome back Canguy. I hope you stay with us this time. It's kind of hard for those of us who are "out of sync" on the hour stuff. Me and Zab keep each other company in the morning till America wakes up although most of the interesting stuff kicking off in the evenings in the states happens while we're asleep. I think it's even harder for Aussies like Canguy as the timing is so off. When it's 9pm for me it's 5 o'clock tomorrow morning down under and only around early afternoon in the States. Kind of difficult to be on the same wave length sometimes! I'd recommend the one year and under club thread. A fair mix of nationalities and time zones on that. Bumped into Inc there this morning (last night for him, I think!!).
Well, hope you are all keeping well. All the best!

Congrats OMD on five months! That is pretty amazing and you should be proud. Sorry you are not feeling well, AMP. As the days start getting noticeably shorter here in the NE US, my dreaded SAD starts to awaken. I have already started on the SJW and I bought a light last year which helped me a great deal. I am curious on how being alcohol free will affect my SAD. Feel better!!
Congrats on five months, OMD! Amp, I hope you feel better soon. Everyone else, I hope you are well.
I had a good day today. Definitely relishing the good feelings because what goes up must come down (at some point). Feeling grateful for my sobriety. Alcohol caused so many issues in my life. I did so many dangerous things drunk over the years. Those memories are a reminder of why I won't drink again. Things are much better on this side.
