Sorry to hear you both lost parents so young.
I will be there in another 5 years(57).
There is longevity in my family if you take alcohol out of the equation.

Just grilled some burgers and had corn on the cob.
Getting dark at 7:22 pm. Hard to see the keyboard.
I can smell the wild grapes on the vine about 20 ft. away.

Yes, Bob, longevity in my family too. If my mother hadn't drank, she could have at least got another 30 years into her life. Even with bad emphysema (from her alcoholic husband smoking in bed) my grandmother (my mums mum) lived to 85. And her mother, my great grandma, to 96. So alcohol vastly clipped my Mothers life short.

I was having a great day. Then i had to deal with a unsatisfied customer. Unfortunately I could not give them what they wanted. I have already spent numerous hours over the same point with them. They were upset and kept me on the phone forever. I felt upset and had an urge. But then i decided they couldnt ruin my Saturday so i sat outside reading the allan carr easyway to control drinking when i got back to my hotel. Had some chipotle for dinner. I will pay for it tomorrow. Maybe tmi

Hi all,

Back from a very nice dinner - had little neck clams in a delicious saffron broth for an app and then a yummy steak. Flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Rocking my baby to sleep now and grateful to be sober tonight

Snooz you will be happy to know my AV tried to worm its way in earlier around 4, but I thought of your recent post to me and advice and it slithered away

So glad to hear the dinner went well Ladybug, and well done you for telling the AV to shut up.

You already know this Snooz ~ but I am SO SO proud of your for doing this.

Awesome picture Bob, but I have put on weight, and can't join you guys for the giant éclair.

It's not too bad I guess, it was tough few months for me as well, and food is better than alcohol...

Venus, don't lose hope in the weight front. It's taken me 2 years to lose 20kilos and a bit of yo yoing in between. It almost defeated me, I was so frustrated.

Get your health and head straight, the rest will follow when the time is right. Hard in between, though.

Chin up. (And Mouth closed! Hehe.)

Ladybug, glad your night was good. Look, try not to worry about those spooky, craZy things the AV comes up with. I used to get petrified every time I'd hear the AV, now I realise it's just amongst all the other crazy chatter and fantasies in my head. Geez, you know, sometimes it pops into my head to abuse someone, tell them off, but it doesn't mean I will do it - it's just a thought. Thinking something doesn't give it power, feeding the thought, continuing it on and acting on it does. But try not to be too scared of the AV.

Lovely weather here. Finishing my big clean out. Boy, do we get soooo disorganised when drinking. I found a wad of old business cards from 5 years ago, I didn't realise I was still traipsing around. Random stuff shoved in the back of my glovebox. The final little messy things.

Yep, found 3 empty bottles shoved at the back of a dresser drawer and a champagne bottle cap from my last venture "out there". The bottles were clanking like no tomorrow when I took them out to the bin. I enjoyed the sound. It used to be associated with such shame, I think it's the first time I've thown bottles into the bin without feeling mortified for many years. I don't feel so scared anymore. That's not to say I'm complacent, I know I am an alcoholic every day I wake up. But I never, ever, have to feel any of those horrible feelings again, ever - and no one has the key to keeping me safe, except me.

What an awesome post Croissant!

And I'm right with you on the choice we have to give power to our thoughts.
I talk about this a lot. As you said, we have all sorts of random thoughts all of the time.

Thanks Venus. Yes, I've gotten myself into a pretty good habit of immediately slamming any good drinking memories with remembering the feeling of a horrible violent Shiraz spew or the fact that I actually can't remember how I got home from the City the last time I went out for social drinks, cooked pizza, fell asleep and set off the fire alarms in my house I burned the pizza so badly.

This is not the only time I'm amazed I didn't get killed by what I've done drinking,

Happy Sunday/ monday to you all. I have been binge eating bit lately. Its tough to control it. Almost like replacing booze and smokes with food. I am making a plan to control it today and hit the eliptical for 20 mins and meditate. Been slacking and getting complacent on those items.
Good morning, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening , and good night!

Morning all!

Last day before my daughter starts kindergarten so going to make the most of it with her. I know I won't drink today because I don't want to feel like crap and be in a fog when I send her off tomorrow. These are the memories I won't let alcohol take from me!!! I'm just feeling p***** today at this disease and my av so it can just **** off! Sorry, I don't usually have such a potty mouth
