So kitty is gone......sort of.

The roommate of a friend of my son has been wanting a cat. I told him by all means take this one. I even offered to get it 'fixed'. I think this cat is male but it's still so young he's not carrying around enough yet to tell without getting closer than I intend to do. Either way I think it's best to take care of that situation for what's to be an indoor kitty. My little one is pleased because they've promised to bring it over for visits.

Well just enough time to get cleaned up before my meeting....after the long run and workout I think my accountant will appreciate the effort.

V - heh, yesterday was an exercise in restraint as I had such unkind words for my husband, but I kept most of them to myself because it was petty and immature and not worth the fight.

He went to work in the morning to finish stuff up so he could take today off (my not-birthday, while I'm at work all day). Then he came home around noon and announced that he had my cold and it was "kicking his ass" so he had to sleep for the rest of the day. One of the symptoms was a mysterious cough that only seemed to afflict him when I was in the room.

I wanted to point out that I knew it was a bad cold because I had it while I worked for four days, put on a birthday party, cooked meals, cleaned the house several times, did the laundry, bought groceries, all while caring for a four year old. When a tiny bit of this mess slipped out of my mouth, he announced that the cold simply hit him harder because he's more run down then I am. Because apparently my life is so relaxing. I wanted to say he's lucky I'm such a badass that I can do all that with a cold plus take care of him, but it would have been a really stupid fight.

So I spent most of yesterday feeling sorry for myself, cleaning my post-party house by myself while my daughter came along behind me to destroy it again and my husband grunted about the noise because he chose to sleep in the living room. I was going to cook myself a birthday dinner, but I was too tired, so leftover hot dogs it was. But he did at one point mumble happy birthday at me.

I worked on exercising maturity. I worked on not feeling selfish and instead feeling grateful for what I have. You can see how well that worked out. I guess I need more practice.

So I think today I will exercise forgiveness in the form of a shopping trip with the joint credit card. Maybe I'll buy a self help book on gracious acceptance, loving kindness, and forgiveness.

A really expensive one. Hardcover.

Sounds like a real busy weekend Briar. Imagine if you had been drinking all the while. The energy drinking steals. You are a badass! I sometimes feel like a super hero with the kiddos and all I do to keep it going. The wife and I are certainly a good team. Your doing great work. Keep at it 😉

I'm glad you vented Briar love!
Hey, I asked. And well done on the restraint.
I think the book plus something else.
Maybe some gorgeous flowers.

Glad you found a good home for the cat Mark!

Really hard to post on my phone this morning, so love to all of you and have a good night. ♥

Hope everything works out ok Briar. You guys have had enough already.

Speaking of which, just got done settling this 2 1/2 month old down. He was crying for almost two hours non stop. Unable to console. Wife called the doctors cause he's never been like this. But temperature is fine. Thinking he was overtired. He's settled now. Will see how the night goes. Wish us luck...

Oh, poor little tyke. Hope he is sleeping through the night now.
And I hope you and your wife are fast asleep as well Arbor.

Another fire? Not good. Hopefully they will be able to keep it contained.
Sending prayers.

Arbor I remember those nights. It's scary when they cry for a long time, and you don't know whether they're just crying because they're tired or if it's some terrible, life-threatening situation. I tried to be cool, but I ended up calling the nurse line about 1000 times. Hang in there, you're doing great.

It sounds like they are getting the fire under control quickly. Thank god! I feel so bad for my mom, she's traumatized already, and it just keeps happening. But bad things come in threes, right? So we should be done now.

Anyway, I'm on another tea spree, and I've found a couple of random UK brands at the discount stores I frequent. I've never seen them before, and I'm wondering if you Australian folks have them where you are - Pukka and Clipper. The internet tells me they are fairly standard grocery store brands in the UK, but they are all organic with no artificial junk. I'm all for that. Plus they were pretty cheap. I bought several flavors of each to try, and I'm enjoying them so far. Just wondering if anyone else is familiar with them. I love trying new things, even if they're just other countries' versions of the same stuff we have here.

Best to you all.

Briar, let me know how those teas are? I'm desperate to find something to replace my morning coffee and I'm spending small fortunes on packets of tea that end up straight in the bin because they taste weird ( or like tree bark and manure or the contents of the vacuum bag)

Hi mysti!

I have no clue girls, but Dee is the tea drinker here, so maybe he has tried or heard of these teas.

Good morning gang.

I hope the night was restful in the Arbor home and glad the fire was controlled quickly.

Wishing all the gang the best day.

So where is the kitten now Mark? Has he gone to his new home yet?

I helped a friend upstairs last night with a loaner cat she was looking after.
She thought the cat was "skittish". Nah ah. It took me all of five minutes to befriend that cutie. She just needed a little more TLC...gosh I love cats. But I think you all know that at this point.

I hope the baby feels better today, arbor. Maybe getting ready to cut a few teeth? Or gas. MIL always said it was gas. Her answer for everything. She has 6, so probably knows better than I ever did.

Kitty's are very cute, unless they are mean kitties, and I have met a couple of those, V. But, I also like kittens/cats, in general. They certainly make for funny video on the internet.

I am stressing a bit about having to feed 80 staff at the school next Tuesday. We rely on food donations from families and the donations are very low. They may roll in last minute, but I need to figure out of I have to make 50 sandwiches Tuesday morning, or order some trays, etc... Last year I ever have to do this one! over 300 families at the school, and all I need are about 35 to send in a dessert, salad or sandwich tray. I also need to do a few things to prepare, set up, get supplies. If we don't get enough salads, I can make a giant quinoa salad or such. I like to be organized and to have a solid plan, so these things drive me crazy. Not the last minute sort of person.

I hope the fires have turned or been contained, Briar.

Just a couple more days with the kids home, then they go to NY with hubby for a long weekend. I think we need to get out to do a little fun thing today, even if it is just the very popular ice cream stand. They are bored and driving each other and me crazy.

You can do it phoebe; I have faith in you!!! Organise in advance, as you and I both love to do, and you will be awesome. I'm sure of it!

I dunno why I thought you were a tea drinker Dee, oops.

Love and goodnight to all of you. ♥
