Good morning gang and happy Monday.
The pleasant 52 degrees here is a great start and somehow makes the coffee better.
To many this is just another Monday, but it comes after a huge weekend for you Arbor. You've put yourself in a position that will now give others the opportunity to be supportive. I read on SR over and over that if you keep stumbling something in the plan needs to change. Yesterday was a big step for you and I believe may be the turning point.
Safe travels for you today phoebe. I bet Huxley (and the others of course) missed you.
I'm concerned about V and Conquest.
Early dental appointment for the 6 month cleaning and then gym time.
PS....the hens turned out great.....smoked them with applewood this time and it smelled so good.

Good morning gang. BD and V, Happy New Year! A bit late for V.
I have a cold. Probably form the cesspool of germs on the plane. I can share it on my flight home this evening. Yuck. Was feeling pretty awful a little bit ago, but perking up after some tea and a cough drop. We had an easy dinner last night and just sat and people watched on the bank of the Chicago River. Was a lovely cool evening. Perfect weather. Need to share some photos .
Glad I have been hanging with a sober friend. However, I have to admit, I was a tad bored in the evenings. We have been tired at night after tons of walking each day. So, after dinner, mostly each have retired to our rooms alone. So I watched TV, scoped out the next day's activities, talked to the kids. If I were alone with different friends, I know we would have gone out for some nightlife somewhere.
But, while I felt a bit restless at night in the hotel room, it was really easy to be sober!! No alcohol! No choice. Nothing to wrestle with in my brain. And, waking fresh everyday.
I have that choice EVERYDAY! Like Leigh was saying. It's up to me, whether I let the alcohol in my house derail me or not. My choice entirely. But, it has been nice to have a break from the stress of that struggle.

This was part of the skyline view from the peninsula where the Planetarium is located. The Museum Campus, as it is called, is a beautiful area with several museums and right by Soldier's Field Stadium, home of The Bears. For the Aussies, that is the Chicago football team, and it was opening day of the season with a game against Green Bay. We had to fight a crowd of foot traffic, swimming upstream against them, lol, to get to the planetarium. However, we had the place to ourselves! For many, the day was all about football.
Having trouble editing from my phone. On the far left, the dark building, the tallest one, with radio towers on top, is Willis Tower, formerly, The Sears Tower, and is the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere.we went up to the top to view the city. 103 stories up. Was pretty cool!
Took today off to straighten out my head. And my body. It seems as if fall is finally on its way. A cool breeze with low humidity. A new season. A time for change.
