Oh Boy! Just what I always wanted! Glad you were able to get out and play zero.

It's officially become more like winter and less like the end of of summer here.

It's sad when dogs get too old like that. I recall some years ago I had to help a dog up and escort him to outside hoping that he could make it. I mean practically holding him up sometimes as he tried to muster the strength to walk and straddling him to keep him from falling over. And just laying in his own mess. Daily cleanups - multiple. You could tell he was just wishing it would end.

Laundry day here. Maybe xmas lights outside. Maybe...

It's going to be a relatively mild, sunny week, at first. Then they're calling for an incoming 'Colorado low', bringing high winds and rain. Also known as the 'November witch'. So, my U.S. friends: not all nasty weather moves in a North/South direction. Sometimes it's the opposite (he said, wringing his hands).
My plan is to sand and urethane some floors while I can still open windows and ventilate the house. Before that brutish Colorado Low sweeps in.

It's funny they call it "the Colorado." It's been sunny and in the 60's for days. My wife and I walked one of our healthy dogs out by the lake and I was actually hot in just a long sleeve shirt.

Our crazy old dog is frustrated but still has a healthy appetite and wants to play. I come home and she tries to get up and if she does she just takes a digger, but she's all tail a waggin' and excited to see me. She loves the long massages she gets when I veg on TV. Despite lots of tramadol she seems pretty alert. It's not really old age as much as years of prednizone for Addison's disease. She's just weak and arthritic but has the mind of a puppy.

Kind of like me. Maybe the tramadol from early in her life caused arrested development like the alcohol and other drugs did for me.

Speaking of, my wife and I watched Someone Marry Barry on Friday night. Barry is kind of like what I might be like if I allowed myself to. I suppose I have some self-respect, though. My wife can be pretty inappropriate herself, but gladly she is not prone to yeast infections (you'll have to watch the film to know what that's about).

We watched the doc 'Searching for sugar man' last night. About an early 70's US musician named Rodriguez, not to give much away. Anybody familiar with him? Moving story.

Yeah Rodriguez was virtually unknown in the US but big here and in South Africa, Jack.

Certainly, Mr. Motown Bigwig came off looking like rather an unsavory gentleman. cough. cough.

hey guys, not much going on,
feeling more energetic about starting the job hunt - it's time

that brutish wind we had over the weekend did a very nice job of moving leaves in the right direction - not on my front lawn...
spent the day in the 'hunting grounds' yesterday - not allowed to hunt Sunday.
helped property owner for a while dispensing downed trees and limbs he collected in a pile over the 'years'. he's reshaping the lay of the land... it's opened up a lot the past couple years... it's becoming more and more difficult being a two legged predator there... deer patterns have changed much, not to mention the ACRES of corn still standing 1/4 mile away. they (the deer) have no need to cross this way now. and with the township changing the 'woods' across the way it has more and more people using it as a "nature trail". ten years ago it was a haven for deer. development is forcing them away... hopefully they cut the corn soon
have a good week

First snow storm expected tonight. Cold and wet out there, so roads could get bad when the rain turns to ice. Hunkerin' down.

Highway's closed. A foot in the street and still dumping. Three foot drifts. Haven't heard nor seen a plow. I suspect the town wasn't ready. Que sorpresa.

hi Actual,, 'currently' has a sort of temporary ring to it...

How about 'immutable former addict' instead?

Yes, my sobriety and non-addict-ism is an immutable data structure, a caste constant that will never change.

How about that

Okay, I have to admit one thing about the legal weed situation in Colorado; it's making for an amazing live music scene in Denver. It's become a mecca. I went to see Greensky Bluegrass, but within ten blocks there were multiple other great bands playing, so they had guys sit in from Lettuce, Umphrey's McGee, American Babies, and even Roosevelt Collier! What a show!
