Day 10
Hi everyone, how's it going? Hope everyone is well here. I've taken some respite in cleaning the house top to bottom! And the sleeping patterns are sorting themselves out.
Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday

Day ten here and realizing how much mild flu feels like being slightly drunk except with the hangover at the same time.

Thank you for the welcome. I'm at my wits end. I don't know how my husband even stays with me but I'm feeling positive about my sobriety, day 2

Going into the evening is often bad news for me , so I'm going to stay here for a bit. Sometimes I worry I have brain damage. On Sunday I brewed a whole pot of coffee with no coffee grounds .. Today I had an odd verbal exchange with a cashier at the cafe near work.. She was trying to tell me that I could get 2 small side dishes to go for a discounted price, and I thought " why would I want 2 of this chicken chick pea thing?" Then she clarified I could mix it up and get 2 different small plate things. I feel like that happens a lot. Like my brain processes things very literally.. It scares me. Im wondering if that will improve.

On a better note, I went to work today for the first time in 10 days. Some of it was scheduled vacation time but some of it was just me calling in sick because I couldn't deal with life and ended up drinking all day despite my intentions of doing something productive in the garden or around the house. I was sick.. But not that sick .

Day 9 today. The AV was pretty strong today but I've managed to get home OK, without hitting the liquor store on my way home from work. Not sure what triggered it - I feel kind of lost today.

I've been invited to friends' house for a BBQ on Sunday. There will be wine there. I want to go and see them but I'm no sure if I can resist the temptation. I know they will not ask any questions or pressure me if I refuse a glass of wine, but I just don't know if I will be strong enough.

Yoga
You can be strong enough to say no. Make yourself say no. You can do this! On the other hand if you feel you won't be strong enough don't go. Eventually as you know social situations will come up. I just tell them "I don't drink anymore." just a thought.

Well I drank again (and smoked a few cigarettes) Friday evening into Saturday early morning

But I'm back on the wagon, so I'll have 3 full sober days at Midnight USA EST. Moreover, I'm determined to make August 2015 the beginning of my sobriety. I'm restarting my Buddhist studies, and I'm working diligently to increase my mindfulness meditation. I will also try out a few SMART Meetings. I only wish there was a large Buddhist center near me. Unfortunately, there isn't and the smaller centers that are close by seem a little sketchy and not headed by quality teachers.

GB,
I notice that I can't remember things and have processing issues when I started going more and more days without alcohol. If I fall back and drink, the starting over for me is literal, and one day I'm feeling like, it may not heal. More recently I've been hearing that small voice of reason telling me that I didn't need to do this,(drink). I have a roaring AV. I can look back and remember this tiny voice. I've got to listen to it, even if I buy a bottle of booze and throw it out of the window. It seems silly to me to tell ppl on here the stupid things I do, but understanding what you're going through makes a huge difference. I've had a day, today, all over the place , but I'm thankful for my wife trying to be there for me past few days. Frankly I wouldn't put up with my problematic self. I'm way worse of an a--, when I'm trying to stay dry. Couple of bumps been identified.
I've never physically written a plan down. I read on here all the time that ppl do that. May give it a try.
God knows I can't remember crap, while trying to tough out beginning recovery.
Sober Tuesday night.
Gnite, yall

Hang in there. Your thinking will change. You'll see that even when you have a ho him bad day while sober it's not in a million years as bad as the holy crap what have I done while drunk/high. It is better I'll take that any time. Hang in there and make it change. Change the way you talk to yourself. It starts with you. Just a thought for new folks! I come here and tell about my bad stuff too and my messed up emotions and ways of thinking but I'll take it over the booze and using any day. Come here and hash it out. Get a sponsor. Go to meetings. Do whatever it takes. I pray you see it can and will be better.

9 days...nothing exciting, eating healthy & getting a little exercise (out of shape & taking it slow, will be glad when i feel some improvement) hope the drugged & dragging feeling in the morning goes away (so not a morning person anyway) got away from caffeine a couple of years ago, never have been a coffee drinker, so today i tried diet mt dew to get me going. surprisingly no real big urges to drink so far... the longest i've gone w/o drinking since i started drinking daily was 17 days.

hang in there y'all
