They say I should get one, too--but I'm a total technological Luddite! I struggle even with taking pictures with my phone! I keep going into face time when I talk, and I have no clue how to get out, so the call goes dead.

I think I'll wait till I'm 60 to take the dual hearing aid step. I'm not that bad...

All is well in overs!

Mags,
I have been detaching and not owning the problems of others more as my mind heals even more after years of drinking. I get angry over a mistake or something breaking much less now. My beautiful yard is torn up, my drive all cut up by trenches, and my lawn has been cut and the grass torn up by heavy machinery. I am not upset as we used to do the same but cleaned up after as these guys have said they will do. I am dealing with a family biz of great folks that have become friends. Anyone can look good when things go right. It is when things go wrong that you see a company or person's real colors flying.

I have a great sense of humor these days and can just take it as it comes and fix it or not. No stressing out except for the other night, when I was surprised in my yard with a visit after hours by a parish inspector. Now I wonder why I felt like I did something wrong until I realized my head was in the wrong place. After a nights good sleep. I've never lost sleep over stressful decisions and circumstances. I was always in charge of others and myself. The last two years of drinking made me regret for the first time in my life. And I still remember not being able to look the man in the mirror in the eye for a bit. I actually was afraid I was going to blow it and have to live in the RV for a year! Hey, when we were traveling full time our 36 footer was a palace on wheels.
When we lived in it for the last year stationary it was substandard housing. Skylar and Maggie have adapted and we both love our rig.

But we will wait until we are settled in the house before we take the first trip in it.

Wolf,
You'll be fine. Let us know how your Appointment next week work out.

Toots!
Be careful how you swing!

IP,
that will help!

FBL,
Cool!

Dee and all the overs have a great weekend!

Hi overs, it's 1.53 am woke up 15 minutes or so wanting alcohol, no idea why, except maybe the sugar cravings from the meds I've been taking. I dealt with the craving but slightly shocked. You can imagine what I would have been like in the bad old days, on a bender for two days, then some.

Thanks for listening.

Hi itchy, sounds like you have everything in control, even in the face of adversity!
I realise that keeping our cool and handling the situation correctly can save heartache and stress.

My cousin has now bought a motorhome, they live in Yorkshire near my sister, who also has one. My sister loves Scotland and take off there whenever they feel like it. I can imagine in the future, if we do invest in one, meeting with them for however long, I forget you don't have to plan around work when you retire!

Itchy - I really appreciated your perspective on family dynamics in response to FBL's situation earlier in the thread. The specifics don't apply to me but the big picture points you made about guilt cut me straight to the heart. I didn't want the thread to pass without mentioning how strongly your perspective spoke to me!

I'm glad to see that everyone continues to do well.

FBL - Glad you were able to clear up the issues with your mom and brother.

Mags - I think keeping my tools sharp is what helps me keep the space between myself and cravings to drink. The gratitude I've cultivated for my life (today, as is, present tense) helps me see I have "too much" to lose by giving in to a craving.

Ip - Great job getting to the gym!

Toots - Running with weights! I give anyone credit who runs, let alone than while carrying more of a load than is necessary!!

OLL - It's really great to see that you're pushing through some of that discomfort and making it to meetings.

Drake - What?? My hearing has been fragile since repeated ear infections in my childhood. It doesn't help that I've had jobs in loud workplaces over the past 8 years. I hope the aids work out well for you.

Saskia - That hearing aid Bluetooth technology sounds cool.

Gilmer - I'm glad that someone chose to be kind to you, rather than make your life difficult. Today a cashier at Target offered me a coupon I didn't know about. To see someone be nice because it's right is a lovely sight to see!!

SoberWolf - Sorry about your troubles with your family. My mom is pretty stuck in her unhealthy behaviors. It can immensely frustrate me! This is where I find I need to work on acceptance.

It's great to see everyone and great to be sober going into the weekend! Good night!

Glee, running is perhaps exaggerating the sluggish jog I perform but I manage. The weights is for the second half of the routine, and Mags, I did come close to knocking a guy off his bike the other day!!

Have a good weekend everyone

Woodie I like it Mags lol I know its meant Wolfie

Erm I'm just going to say it.. I phoned my dad 5 mins ago

He was sober we got chatting he said by his own voice he went to an aa mtn in my head il be honest I've never heard him actually say it he's txtd it but I really thought he was drunk I don't think he was and I was and am wrong

.. I asked how and why etc I started to go into shock I still am

My gut instinct is he's telling the truth and right now I'm dumbfounded

Speechless he actually said it his words 'I bumped in to someone who used to go meetings with your mum' my dad ended up going to a meeting with this same guy

If ppl don't believe in miracles I think I just witnessed one
