I could never wrap my head around musicals, people don't Do Things and then break out in song. That said the only ones that make sense are Annie, and The Sound of Music, the again maybe West Side Story too, or do I just like catchy tunes?

I like the old-fashioned musicals. "My Fair Lady," "Fiddler on the Roof" and the like.

If I ever met the person who once said "hey, I think this Andrew Lloyd Weber is really talented," I would kick him/her in the shins.

I love fishing too. We used to go fishing sometimes when we were kids, but I very rarely get to do it now. There's something instinctual about it, I think. Feels like that to me. Nothing like feeling that tug on the line....

Sooo,
Many people post music on this thread, I'll join!
The lyrics to this song are so beautiful, and I love the video very much, but I don't think the song and video match.

Yes, I'm probably being too dismissive there. The old-fashioned ones did have some great songs in them.

Jen it is! I really just have to get off my bum and arrange it. It's not like Auckland isn't surrounded by sea.

I live in the Canadian Rocky mountains, not far from Banff, so there's tons of sweet outdoor love around here!
If you've never heard of banff, you should google images- I grew up in this area and it still takes my breath away.

Wow - looks breathtaking. A lot like the South Island of New Zealand.

Thanks for the song - lovely. Can't bear (no pun intended) to think about polar bears losing their environment.

Here's a great song and video for you all....

I have two questions.
I could google, but I prefer to ask real people

I struggle with the semi colon- when exactly should I use it? When slightly moving away from the topic in a sentence, but not enough to warrant a period?
I use them in my academic papers, I've gotten away with it, and I've been corrected on it as well ( so obviously I'm using it correctly some of the time and not other times.
Also, what is the difference between affect and effect- once again, I know I could google, but I like having conversations rather than just using the internet.

Am I wrong or isn't NZ the outdoor adventure capital of the world?

And while I'm talking about NZ, and I know you like crime... Have you ever seen a show called ' sensing murder'? I watch it online- soooo interesting

Jen, use a semi-colon to separate two independent clauses.

It is a graceful piece of punctuation; I use it frequently.

Effect is a noun. Sobriety has had a good effect on me.

Affect is nearly always a verb. I have been positively affected by SR.
