Well I had a "short" work day today, 10.5 hours instead of 14-16....

But my car got a flat tire as I was driving, so I had to drive it to a gas station, tried to put air in, didn't work, called a tire shop and they said they'd tow it, get a new tire and put it on, for $300!!
so I got my own tire, got a car rental, drove it to my car, parked it, drove my car with a flat all the way to the shop, walked back to my rental and then worked all day until now.
Just livin the dream over here...
Too bad I make all my boyfriends cry or I could've called one of them

Happy tears, Nest :-)

It takes a lot to make me cry these days, so I actually enjoy it. On that note, books that got me sobbing my heart out were 'Catch 22', 'Beloved', 'Moments of Reprieve', and 'Night'.

dwtbd is a good friend to SR. I read "Les Miserables" in high school. Seemed like everyone was fawning over the movie a couple years ago. I went. It was the longest 85 hours of my life.

'A fine balance' and 'the god of small things' had me in tears, I mean TEARS- snotty, gasping for air tears.
As for movies- 'the bridges of madison county' did the same thing, I didn't even want to watch the damn movie, but nothing else was on, I wasn't expecting that

So sorry you had to endure that. That's probably what drove you to the dark side.

What a day, Jsbodhi. I get really impatient and bad-mooded with that sort of stuff. 49 years old going on 3, sort of thing.

lol Venecia. I HATE musicals. Fast-food entertainment in my book. They're always so cloying and cliched and arrrgghhh.....my partner took his children to see 'Cats' when they were young. He said the stupid cats were clambering over the patrons' seats, and he felt very sorely tempted to go "PSSSSTTTT!!!!"

The thing I remember most vividly about that book was the sense of impending doom that ran all the way through it. You weren't 'disappointed' either, if you know what I mean.

Reading the Bible and the Qu'ran for fun is seriously impressive!

Yes, definitely not disappointed.... it totally broke my heart.

Its not really impressive, I'm just a book nerd, I haven't had a tv in years, I grew up really poor with a single mom, so there wasn't too much entertainment other than books and hanging around outside, but it was good!
I've have always been in love with books, since I was small.
I still just read and go fishing, hiking, so its served me well ( being super poor growing up)
I used to get high and go to the library too.
