Methinks you need a geek.

Any geeks on this thread who can lend a helping hand to Venecia?

Great reviews, but haven't seen it yet. It's on my list.

Will it make me cry? I'm not much into crying in public.

(((Sadie))) I've relapsed more often than you have fingers and toes. (that would be more than 10 unless you are a mutant frog)

Hang in there, sweetie. Keep trying, even if you lose every now and then. I've lost battles, but I'm here to win the war. The fact that you are even posting here shows your commitment. You can do this, which I know is a cliche, but you can. Keep us posted, okay?

Actually, I do have extended family who have moved here, one of whom is pretty geeky and could figure it out for me. Add to my to-do list, huh?

Just an observation: Perhaps it's not such a surprise that there are documentary nerds (as opposed to geeks) here. Yes, we're alcoholics in recovery. We didn't stop living or thinking. We just stopped living and thinking as well as we could.

Within less than a couple hours, a treasure trove has been shared between people who want to think as well as we can. I think that speaks to our aspirations, whether we're one day sober or 10 years.

I'm also glad that Cymbalta is helping you, Frank. We want to live and think well; we deserve to feel well.

When I think about my sobriety, sometimes I think I'm better now. More accurate, perhaps, is that I'm continuing to get better. I'll take that.

Good night, Lapidaslanders.

I doubt it would make you cry - it didn't me. You will probably sit there a bit stunned at the end though. It's unrelenting, and it makes you feel slightly culpable as a member of our voracious culture.

Hokay, now I gotta watch it. Any (even amateur) review that contains the words "culpable" and "voracious culture" is must see. Unfortunately, I can't find it on either Netflix or Amazon. Too new, I guess? And Fandango doesn't show it appearing locally.

Oh, what a pain. Yeah, it probably is too new. We had it on at our recent festival and now it's playing in some local theatres. Do you live somewhere in California? I don't know what has made me think that - just what I imagine.

It distresses me no end that Kiwi People get movies before I do. I think I'll eat a pumpkin now.

Always fun to talk to you, Miss Shabby, even when I don't understand a word you are saying. Big smoke? Maybe a cultural divide or something to do with shearing sheep.

Hello,
Just home from work, passed through a check stop, I was sober :-) but I never drink and drive anyway so its never really an issue, though I'm on day 1 again, drank some wine last night, but I'm not giving up, wanted to drink tonight and didn't, I hope I can sleep though, I'm so tired...

Not travelling yet Frank, next sat, until then I'll just keep working ungodly hours.

Irishman wants to do long distance but I can't, I've had so many long distance relationships and I'm done with them, he shed a couple tears- thats now the second man I've made cry this summer.....
I was going to say something naughty, but Dee doesn't like it and I have been asked politely to not say things like I wanted to, so I wont

As for crime- snowtown horrified me! Still does, not many crimes can get under my skin anymore, but that one always can.

Day One is better than Day Zero. I'm here for you. All of us are.

Cool how you can make men cry. You must have something going for you!

Big (((HUGS)))

I will check out Snowtown, but gotta tell you I'm not much into crime stuff.

Oooooo....haven't heard of snowtown. Must have a look.

I'm struggling really badly with cravings right now. I've got into my pyjamas to try and prevent a grog-shop run :-(

I've been told off for swearing! Yay!! We're in the naughty class :-)

'Big Smoke' as in city, as in where all the industrial chimneys blow out all the smoke...I think.

Shabby, you kept me company on a night when I was in the same situation you are now. And thank you for that. Now it's my turn. Talk to me, you'll get through this.

I don't know why they cry!! I'm very nice, I just have commitment problems and fall in and out of love/ lust or whatever it is really easily.

Frank, you are so sweet. Probably the best thing I can do now is cook dinner. I'm so sick of always wanting to be in an altered state. Well, maybe not always, but often. Anyway....off I go to cook. You're a real sweetheart, you know that?
