Hey all

It's Friday! Woo-hoo. It's my last day at work for two weeks as I take some vacation.

1step I was very happy to see Wales win last night. I am enjoying the football and also the U.S. Open tennis where I can:

Lots to do today to finish up at work so I am doing a quick post and back later

Happy holiday weekend to you guys over the pond

Two weeks sounds awesome London! Where are you headed again?

Packing up today to head home. Still have the long weekend so that is cool.

Hope everyone is feeling great, hugs all around.

Thanks London, enjoy your vacation! Are you traveling somewhere or just enjoying a staycation in London?

Thanks Pink, London, Scooter and Choobie for your kind words.

Ultra - way to go with the running - I am considering a 5K, I know it is nowhere close to the distance you log but for me it would be an accomplishment.

1step and Rah - You are both doing fantastic - keep on keepin' on!

Determined - glad to hear your trip went smoothly - you inspire me. I was catching up on old posts and this quote you posted a few days ago really resonated with what I am experiencing right now. "A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if they are to be ultimately at peace with themselves. What a person can be, they must be." Abraham Maslow

Therefore…a dancer must dance!

I am in a really great place right now. I have also noticed that I am even more resilient to anything negative. I am dealing with life on life's terms with a completely different perspective lately.

“The question isn’t who is going to let me, it’s who is going to stop me.” — Ayn Rand

Hugs to all.

Day 41 today!! I've been doing really well my husband made arrangements for us to meet some people tonight for karaoke. I am not really pleased about it. I don't want to go because I don't want to feel pressured to drink. I am going to be strong. I have no desire to drink. I am feeling really good inside. Stoping drinking and getting back on the antidepressant has really made a difference. Wish he didn't do that.

This weekend is our 12 year anniversary. We are going on a sunset horseback ride. Hoping to get some sun. I wanted to take a ride to a zoo that's about an hour and 15 minutes away. Vacation next week, we are going to the mountains. Then I travel to CT for work. Hope you are all doing well!

Back and in my own bed. Feels nice.

Grateful, that's super cool you liked that quote. Be you my friend, and be the best you. Dance like nobody's watching is my motto! Great ayn rand quote too. Double high five!

Keep that plan in hand tonight rah. Check your phone and read posts, that always helps me.

Sweet dreams kids and happy Friday!

Thanks Dee! Enjoy your weekend man.

Hey all

Happy weekend and happy Saturday

Well done Rah that's great. Those sober muscles will keep building! Are you set for your vacation?

Thanks Grateful, I forgot it was 13 months. That has flown by since I posted about one year.

I just finished my Saturday morning AA. Now I am ready for some lunch. Tomorrow I am flying to Croatia. Looking forward to it as it looks nice and warm and London is definately feeling cold today. I am hoping to travel around the region a little bit too.

Always nice to be back in your own bed Determined! Glad you had a good time :-)

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Happy Saturday on a three day weekend babies!! Awwww yeah boy!!

My son made me laugh, he said I am always taped up and have boo boos. I told him that means I am always having too much fun! Better to wear it out than to rust it out. I have stock in duct tape, that stuff holds me and my toys together man!

A great weekend to reflect on our journey and to be aware that we are examples whether we know it or not. Lots of drinking everywhere this weekend. Make sure you keep your guard up and have a plan. But, more importantly, be yourself and have a bunch of fun and realize you could be the example someone that is struggling needs to see.

"Be bold and courageous. When you look back on your life, you will regret the things you didn't do more than the ones you did."

Strut your stuff today. Find your mojo.

Rah - so happy to hear - you are doing great!

London - I saw your name posted on the 24 hour thread for milestones. I hope you have a lovely time in Croatia.

Determined - How are you doing? That is funny what your son said. Has something happened since the last knife fight? Just concerned about you my friend. I love today's quote also. Sounds like you are finding your mojo.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend - we have a long holiday weekend in the States. I have my kids this weekend so I will not be tempted by any drinking. Looking forward to just chilling with them, watching movies, playing games, laughing, dancing, cooking and eating good food. Life is good sober.

Hey Team.

I'm about a month from my marathon and have finished 4 of 6 of my 20+ weekly long training runs- so over half way there! I have a group run tomorrow on the eventual Ultra Course which I'm looking forward to though I'm pretty sore

Let's keep doing the right stuff!

Day 43 today! I made yesterday a day of rest, stayed home, napped. Today my husband and I are celebrating our 12 yr anniversary. We are going out later for lunch or dinner on the lake near our house. I have a plan..,diet soda and maybe a non alcoholic frozen drink. Trying to stay in the path.

Great group run this morning. I was in the pack at the back- while still running 3 minutes faster than my normal pace. Most of these people are just beasts! I passed a bunch punch of folks with three miles to go and felt strong overall.

I'm not a natural runner and building this type of endurance has been a pretty big effort. But little by little I'm begining to see myself as an Ultra Marathoner.

Seeing myself as alcohol free was a lot easier since it was strictly a mental paradigm shift.

Perhaps part of the reason I'm going after my Ultra Marathon goal is to compensate for the relatively easy time I've had on the alcohol free one.

The main reason is to put a symbolic stake in the ground symbolizing how far I've come since my health issue and subsequent decision to go alcohol free. . .
