Had a good long look back at my life yesterday.
In typical fashion (I'm a bit slow on the uptake) I finally realised I am an addict. From childhood it's been: constantly seeking approval (that hasn't changed much), food, smoking, toxic relationships, drugs (briefly) and alcohol. Why can't I develop such an attraction to something healthy? Like, say, broccoli?
One thing that being in recovery has given me is the head space to do this sort of reflection, as painful as it can be.
You guys are the reason I'm still here. You give me hope. Your loving patience, kindness and straight up honesty is what keeps me checking in here day after day, keeping myself accountable.
I've never known a bunch of people who care so much. You mean the world to me.

Congrats to all the milestoners - altoids especially - a year is awesome.
Zeppodog I dunno what to tell ya man - my problems are different but I empathise - every year I lose a little bit more in dexterity and flexibility.
I try to keep as healthy as I can and keep the pain meds to a minimum and try to walk the fine line between knowing my limits and not shirking my responsibilities.
