24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 69
24 more please, and I'm glad that day is over!
On the positive side, we go on holiday tomorrow for a week by the English seaside....
Just wondered, how does everyone deal with holidays? The last time we went away (feb) I drank and undid the good work I'd managed in sobriety up until then. I found the change of routine / surroundings a little hard to deal with then.
I'm certain I won't let the same happen again, just feel a little apprehensive when I should be looking forward to getting away and enjoying family time...
Hope everyone's weekend is being good so far

Just think of your time in and thank God for your sobriety. Look up and look all around you and realize how wonderful it is to be where you are physically and mentally. Enjoy the simple beauty of your surroundings and take them in. Just don't pick up the first drink. Drink in the fresh moist air, the warm sun on your body and how your life is becoming better everyday. Have fun and know you are in a good place.
Asking for 24 more please Dear God.
Never want to drink again. No matter what.
Congrats to all those celebrating a milestone today and to ALL those sober today!!
Prayers for the sick or struggling.

6:30, sometimes it's so hard to stay sober, just trying to get through another day, back to construction work, can hardly walk at the end of 8 hours, Doc. gave me oxycodone, won't get more of those, mess up my sleep and who needs another problem? Wife says maybe I can't do manual labor anymore, well who's going to hire me to do anything else? Just bitchin, damned sore this morning with no sleep cause of the pain pills, I'm only 62, should be able to outwork some young kids but I'm hurtin at the end of 40 hours. well got a day off, how do others handle this?
well is Saturday morning, the journey of sobriety is bumpy but so rewarding that all I can do is keep going.
right at this moment in time life is wonderful good.
let's never give up together we can do this.
for the struggling remember that "this should too pass." and went it that's you are stronger.
