Thanks sw, but I was answering Ladybugs question, not celebrating 4 months.

I've said before I'm not into counting days and months as it was quite stressful on me in the beginning. I'm committed to staying sober and its been that way for 2 years, so 4 months feels like a put down to me and does not acknowledge my journey so far.

Thanks for responding, Croissant. I know how you feel. I've been at this for 2 years as well. I had almost 4 months and then almost a year. I've drank 4 times this month and am back on Day 3 so not too happy with myself. Still not giving up though. I only asked how long it has been for you because you seem to be in a good place and I could use the motivation

I'm really looking forward to seeing how it pans out Leshar & I'm so very happy you are home and settling at last after your ordeal.

Kudos to you.

You deserve every happiness honey

I have been craving champagne ALL DAY LONG. It's the worst it's ever been in my two and a bit weeks.

Holly and I got busy and went to IKEA . I got past the cravings , but trying to put the bloody sofa up was enough to drive ANYONE to drink !!!!! Geez lol ...

Been a couple of days since I posted in here so I best check in. Starting day 82. Nothing exciting been happening the last couple of days--just normal around the house stuff and then work in the evenings. All is good.

I certainly understand not counting days and how it can add unnecessary pressure. I know a lot of people here at SR feel the same way. But I'm doing a public count this time, at least for now, because it is helping me build accountability to myself and to everyone here on SR. Every time I post a day count, I'm telling you and myself that I have definitely not drank since my last post. I spent a whole lot of time here in the last two years lurking on the edges, getting no more than a week or so of sobriety under my belt but not admitting to anyone that I was having problems. I'm sure I'll stop the day count at some point but for now it's just another little tool in my personal recovery tool belt. Like I said, just a personal choice and I certainly understand the opposite preference.

Soberwolf -- I don't want to speak for Croissant but I didn't take her post as saying anything about you offending her. I think she was just saying to all of us that she has been working at her recovery for two years now so her own mind doesn't view her sober time as four months alone but as a continuing journey of two years now.

Your pats on the back and way to gos have made the difference to me more than once, soberwolf.

Wolfyyyyyy

You could NEVER offend ANYONE :-)

Your love & support to me in our group has meant the world to me. I don't know why you would possibly think that!

Just keep being your lovely self , I would hate for you to feel that you had to think twice before you posted anything here.
We love you dearly & we are all friends.

You are such an integral part of this group . Each and every one of us Julyers has something unique to bring . Keep it comin lovely

Holly and I are off to get our eyes tested. I need new reading glasses , can't see Jack ! I feel like an old bat ....lol too much late night I-padding .
It will be 3 weeks for me tomorrow...I always end up losing count after a month .

I had a huge cleaning binge last night , it was nice to do it sober & remember where I put everything this morning ....Oh the days !!! I remember trying to find things for months after a drunken cleaning binge .

I'm going to put my new quilt & quilt cover on this morning , it's gorgeous , I just have to try to keep the hounds off of it.

I've got to try to get back on track with my eating as well . Since I relapsed , my good food eating regime went out the window and some kilos have found my arse again!

Not happy about that , my jeans were way too tight yesterday. So back to eating sensibly for me . For a little while at least.

In the middle of winter it's so hard not to find comfort in food. Hot drinks and choccy ...I better STOP now cos I'm getting peckish!

I absolutely HATE salad , it's really hard . I'm NOT a rabbit , I love my meat and veggies. I'll try to behave today :p

Some food ideas would be good if anyone cares to share . I'm going to try the 5:2 and see if it works for me .

I'd also love to see some pics Bob :-) or anyone else :-)

We may live miles apart , but on here it feels like you are all just around the corner.
I love all you guys and congrats to ALL of you on your milestones and for being here still as a Julyer. You're a great bunch of friends

No offence sober wolf...I know you try to encourage people as best you can, so I just wanted you to know I don't look at it quite that way, that's all. Because knowing you, in 4 weeks time, you would think you were doing the right thing and congratulate me on 5 months, but I just wanted to be clear I'm not a time counter in the commonly accepted way.

Yes, I know why you asked Ladybug, I think we both slipped around the same time last year too just before or around when you got pregnant, so I can see how this dance with alcohol right now must be frustrating the hell out of you.

Same with you, Snooz. I think what astounds me is that same drunk that was there 2 years ago steps right back up on the plate once I ingest alcohol. It's not the first drink, like your first "harmless" few at the Casino - it's the cycle it can potentially unlock back into full blown force which is the scary thing. Those post slip cravings....are EXACTLY as strong for me as they were the day I stopped cold turkey after full on alcoholism and binge drinking 2 years ago. Kindling is a very scary and unpredictable thing.

.
Yep, you nailed it on the head, Croissant, thanks. I am frustrated beyond belief. You would think I'd have more reason now than ever to stay sober, for my 2 little girls, yet this has been so hard this time around. It's not that I want to drink everyday or that I get wasted when I do .... I just can't seem to beat that AV down when it comes around once or twice a week. And I know if I keep up this pattern it won't just be once or twice a week and I will start drinking more and more. My biggest fear is that something bad will happen to one of my girls while I am under the influence. So far I have been very lucky, but I don't want to take that chance anymore. Not to mention I like "me" so much more when I am 100% sober. I need to save this post and read it next time my AV rolls around.

Day 4 starting now. Thanks for being here

Thanks honey , I'm doing tough like you too but I can't go back.
The AV is worse than it's ever been . But we can do this.

My deepest regret is not being able to give it up for my girls. They remember so much . Your girls are young enough to escape that.

If I had my time over again , I would NEVER have drank & spent so much more quality time with my kids.
That guilt is really hard to live with Ladybug .
We will keep going .

Girls can be very hurtful with words as they get older , I don't want you to be on the end of that , cos believe me it will happen & words cut deep.

Luvya Hun , you're a good Mum

Xxx
