Good Morning Overs. Its been a long while since I have been here and posted but just wanted to stop by to say hello and to celebrate that today is my 5 year sober day. I couldn't have done it without Sober Recovery and all the people here.

Congratulations Lyddie good to see you!
I hope those suffering the heat don't melt and those with rain don't rust!
My MIL was rushed into hospital earlier in the week after suffering a stroke. We went to visit her for the first time last night. Apparently she was hugely improved on the first day. Her speech is better and she is getting the use of her arm back, but it was still such a shock to see her, she had aged 10 years in a few days. She seemed quite upbeat, if tired. Hope to go in again today but we have the last of our gear arriving from the U.S. Today and no idea of time so that may delay a visit until tomorrow.
I was very fortunate in my MIL, she has never interfered or judged she has just always been really welcoming. A true second mum. Positive thoughts for a full return to action would be welcomed.
Also an update on my SIL, she had the mastectomy and is about to have her penultimate chemo before they decide if any other treatment is necessary. The chemo has taken a toll on her, but she is positive and fighting.

Been out to get more shopping as mrs sw thought i didnt get everything yesterday, found out my cousin fuenral is this tuesday thats on my mind but for now i gotta appreciate what i do have & treasure it
So im making fish & chips we bought some really nice cod & its going to be a nice dinner i dont mean to sound cocky but my fish & chips is really good

That must have been terrifying for her! It sounds like she earned the family members like you, even it you are an outlaw and not blood. She is one lucky lady any way you look at it.
Thanks FG and RZ et al, amen we can only hope to dry out. It is a bear when we have flooding and 95 degree weather with extreme humidity. Typical Lousy-ana weather, save for the record breaking rains. Remember me griping a couple of years back about our drought?
